Re: Cargo Barrier

Hi Brett,

I got the Nissan cargo barrier when I bought the car new.
I also did not like the gap between the seats and the barrier even though I knew the clearance was for the reclining rear seats.
Since I do not recline the seats much (if at all as my 4yr old does not complain about it emoticon ) I left the bottom attachment points where they were and just added an extension to the upper arms so that the barrier fits flush with the seats.

Here is how close it is to the rear seats now.

This shows the effect on the seat reclining.
Image

I also have a sunroof and this shows the roof clearance from the sunroof "bulge".

Re: Cargo Barrier

Mine is an Ausguard version. The barrier is flush against the back seats and looking at Kev's pics, it's a completely different mounting position. It uses the underside of the roof... I also have the ability to move it to the back of the driver/passenger seats without too much effort as there are additional anchor points there...

First shot showing the additional anchor point.

Second shot showing the position in relation to the seats.

Third shot shows the model data.

And final shot showing the anchor for the rear position.

I'm looking to have an access hatch cut in mine... anyone know who could/would do that?

Re: Cargo Barrier

Hi Brett,

By my pics I can't see why a barrier for an exy with a sunroof would not fit one without a sunroof.
Sure the height would be slightly lower and by my pic above, only a little, but the mounting arms should be the same length and attach to the same points.
Get a measurement of the arm length on your 'cheapie' and compare it to mine which is about 390mm hole-to-hole.
If you want to compare any other measurements just let me know.

Re: Cargo Barrier

Hi Guys,

Any of you with the Milford Cargo Barrier has the fitting instructions handy?

I have an xtrailer ask me for help in obtaining the fitting instructions for a Milford barrier he recently purchased, so any help would be appreciated.

The exy model is a 2005 ST, without sunroof.

Re: Cargo Barrier

Lads,

I'm looking at getting an ausguard cargo barrier for my sunroof equipped x-trail. Has anyone had one fitted before, or does anyone know where the connection points are? I can't find any reference to this in this thread so far. The guy who installs them in Brisbane (the only place I can find that does them) is on holidays emoticon

I'm keen to ensure that it sits as close to the rear seats as possible, and also that the mount points are to my liking. I'm not that keen on having them mounted near the tailgate with a long piece of metal running back to the rear seats.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Cargo Barrier

Previous page, Naff said he had the Ausguard barrier.

I don't think there are actually any defined fixing points for the barrier.

Naff had fixing points installed for rear-seat and front-seat positioning.

Re: Cargo Barrier

Gooday all,
We are planning a trip across to Perth soon and I want to fit a barrier behind the front seats.

We seldom use the rear seats as seats,so figured that area may as well be flat to fit in all the stuff tha missus wants to cart from one side of the country to the other 'just in case she needs it'.

Has anyone got this set up and able to post some pics or maybe even a copy of the templte/instructionsd to fit same.

Re: Cargo Barrier

Gooday Kev, yep, I saw that info from Nath but that barrier in the pic is fitted behind the rear seats, I want to fit our behind the front seats if thats a possible.
Nath does say there are mounting points at the front seats but I can't spot them.
Maybe someone has a pic of the forward installation.

(still haven't got to that Nubira mate, the daughter's been using the car while over here from Perth. It will happen though.)
