DSM Events selects USWRA to sanction 2005 Havasu Jet Jam PWC Racing Series
Jim Russell, president of DSM Events, the Lake Havasu City based motorsports event production company, announced this week that the series of Jet Jam PWC Performance Weekends will be under the sanction of the USWRA.
When asked about this Russell said, "We approached this decision with a clear slate. It is our intention to take what Bullet Racing built over the past three years and add to it. We are trying to build bigger family weekend events for participants, add spectator and sponsor interest, plus enhance the overall entertainment value for everyone involved. We felt that our experience in the production and promotion of events ranging from stadium style off-road races, to monster truck shows, to the IJSBA World Finals, would qualify us to do this.”
“We have observed the success of other promoters who have aligned their events with ancillary activities or existing festivals,” continued Russell. One such example is the Benecia event where watercraft racing has become a part of the city’s summer festival. Another example is the World Finals where for the last two years the Mini Bike Grand Prix event has been a welcomed addition.
“Ancillary activities are nothing new especially in today’s world of action sports, and I would classify watercraft racing as an action sport,” stated Russell. “The USWRA has embraced our plans and provided the means to move ahead with what we feel will help enhance not only the Jet Jam Series, but the sport in general,” continued Russell.
Russell closed with saying; “DSM Events feels our future success is through involvement with the USWRA as we work closely to make the transition smooth and beneficial for our participants.”
