Eastside Honda Challenge - TEAM RACING
Eastside Honda Challenge - TEAM RACING
Lottery Teams:
Each person must provide their own craft (runabouts only), and will place their name in a hat. Two-person teams will be paired up by drawing at the riders' meeting. Beginners/Novices will be paired up with Pro-Ams, until one of the group of names has been exhausted. Then the remaining group will be paired together until all names have been drawn.
A handicap system will be used to ensure each Lottery Team member gets their fair share of racing. At the end of the one-hour race, any team that has MORE than two laps difference between the two team riders' lap totals will be penalized the number of laps that is over that difference.
Example: At the end of one hour of racing, Team Rider One ends up with 15 counted laps, and Rider Two ends up with 10 counted laps (or 25 laps total). The difference is 5 laps, so the team would be penalized the 3 extra laps made by Rider One. This would result in the team having 12 laps and 10 laps, respectively, for a total of 22 laps.
Riders may switch off as many times as they want, but must ride their own craft.
Each team will be eligible to win top-three trophies in the Lottery team class for each event.
Also, each time a rider competes on a Lottery team during the season, they will earn additional points to increase their chances of winning a grand prize by drawing from Eastside Honda (Texas Cup weekend / must be present to win).
Non-Lottery Teams:
Each rider will pick their own teammate. Each team may use one or two boats as they choose. Each boat to be used need to be declared at the time of registration. No boat changes after the start of the race. Since their are no overall awards at the end of the season, riders can choose different teammates for each event if they wish.
Each team will be eligible to win top-three trophies in the Non-Lottery team class for each event.
Non-Lottery Team riders may switch off as many times as they wish, but MUST "check-in" at the beach checkpoint together (at the same time) ONCE during the race. This mandatory check-in must happen sometime AFTER the first 10 minutes of the race, but BEFORE the last 10 minutes of the race. Any team that does not perform the mandatory check-in during the appropriate time will be DQ'd.
