 Revised Rules for Picture Posting
I have decided to revise the rules for picture posting and give a few guidelines that I would like for you guys to try to follow. Some of this will be a repeat of the old rules, but I would like for everyone to try their best to follow these guidelines.
Do NOT Hotlink!
This means that you may not directly link to a photo on someone else's website. If I see this in posts they will simply be deleted and a PM will be sent to you.
"New" Pictures From Old Theme: I noticed as I was cleaning there were a lot of threads for the same "theme" (i.e. *NEW* Troy pics). I would really appreciate you guys keeping all the pics in one thread. If you started the thread, you even edit in an "Updated..." and give a date, but please try to keep them together. I would combine these threads, but Runboard does not have a feature for me to do that (that I know of) right now. Maybe they will in the future. This goes for pics from the same movies, but I would also really appreciate it if you could keep pics from the same photoshoots together as well. That may be a little more difficult, so I understand, but the movie ones should be pretty easy. Even if you did not start the thread, you can add to it.
Picture repeats:I ask that you please look carefully before you post a picture. As pictures take up a lot of space and bandwidth, I request that only one of a picture be posted. If repeat pics are found they will be deleted. I know that this is not always done on purpose, I overlook things all the time, but I ask that you make the effort before posting.
Quoting In The Picture Threads: This is related to repeating picture posts. When you quote a picture into your post it is the same as repeating it. I ask that you find someway to reference the photo, not re-post it. I know that is not always easy. To help with this I'll make the request that posters please either title or number your pictures so that people can refer to them in their posts. It only takes an extra second and it will help with conserving bandwidth.
Crediting Pictures: Please credit the site from which you got the picture or the magazine if you scanned it yourself. In regards to fan photos, please ask the photographer before taking any personal photos and if they give you permission please make sure that you give them credit as well.
Picture Sizes: I am not resetting the sizes. Please keep pics to 50KB and about 600 pixels wide. This is mostly out of respect for for our dial-up users, but it also helps with conserving the bandwidth. To check the size of a picture before you post it, right click on it and then click "Properties" at the bottom of the list that comes up. This should give you the information that you need. (50KB = 50000bytes.) If you cannot resize the image yourself, either contact someone to do it for you or post the link to the picture. Make sure it is on your own webspace.
No Hotlinking by URL either.
Test Posting:If you have never posted a picture before or are unsure if it is going to work for you please try it in the Testing Forum first, then bring it here to pictures and post away!
Pornography: Pornographic images are NOT allowed on this board. If you have nude pictures that you wish to share do it through e-mail or somewhere else. There will be no warning on this. If you post anything pornographic you will be banned immediately.
