United 93
There is much discussion and criticism on the release of the film, United 93. It comes out today, 4/28. Many are upset that it is too soon to depict the events of Sept 11, 2001, and that any and all films are exploitive and inappropriate.
The filmmakers defend their actions by claiming every family member of the killed passengers support the film and were actually consultants to help with the accuracy of the story. They also say we as a nation must force ourselves to remember the heroics of flight 93 and it is doing them an honor to re-live their last day.
We at the Mad Donkey have yet to see the film, but if anyone out there has, please let us know what you think. Or if you have any other opinions on either side of the quote:
