GOP Boundary

I have a project ready to Build/Burn but it's crashing out somewhere between 60 and 100 percent of the encoding process. Compiler flagged a boundary GOIP error in one of the slideshows of the project but I have checked the fix/move GOP box in preferences. The project works fine in Simulate.

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks and regards, Corrie

Re: GOP Boundary

Hi TheEasel
try converting the slideshow to a track. In fact try converting all your slideshows to tracks, repoint all relavent buttons to the new tracks and try bulding and burning again.

Yeah I still dont know why that happends (I think it depends on the computer your working on, cause I had that happen on one mac, then opened up up on another mac and it worked fine. Sometimes either a simple restart or trashing preferences seem to work, if anything else fails...

I've emailed the Easel to come check out the thread - he might not have checked the old "email when someone replies" box...

Re: GOP Boundary

Thanks for the off forum email explanation TheEasel.
DVD Studio Pro is very picky with exact length matches for audio and video tracks. When exporting audio and video from Final Cut Pro make sure that the tracks are exactly the same length and that you fill "blank" areas of the sequence with slug. This may help you with the GOP boundary issue.

Re: GOP Boundary

Sorry for the tardiness to the reply, but I sometimes find that once in DVDSP, if this error should come up, I can sometimes grab the offending marker and just push it a tad either way. DVDSP will snap it to the nearest GOP boundary for you. Of course if your marker needs to be on that precise frame, it might be an issue, but usually, just nudging it a frame or two goes unnoticed, especially on long time lines.
