rendering media in color
Does anyone know how I can render only the media in the sequence in Color rather than it rendering all the media associated with the sequence. For example I may have only used 3 secs of a shot that came from a 3 minute clip. Rather than it render only that 3 secs it renders the entire 3 mins. This can add up to about 1 hr or so of media it has to render and we all know how much time and space that would gobble up. Thanks for reading and helping out, Ross

Re: rendering media in color
My first glance is not good - other people are experiencing the same thing an recommending Media Managing before grading - which would work, but I would expect a built in solution - like Color recognising in and out points.
I have sent this question to a Color guru in Soho, London.
..so watch this space

Re: rendering media in color
You can achieve this by using Final Cut Pro's media management tool before sending to Color.
At first that might seem a bit of a cop out but when you think about it makes sense. Otherwise, what would you do if you sent it to color and then decided later to make a small adjustment to a couple of edits. You would have to send it Color all over again.
This was you have, in effect the option of adding handles.
It would be nice to have the Send to Color feature offer the option of media managing on the way, or alternatively have the option is Color to render ALL MEDIA, VISIBLE MEDIA ONLY or VISIBLE MEDIA PLUS HANDLES.
Alas, there is no such option as yet.
Hope this helps
