transparent background
Hello all its been a while.
I was wanting to create a slide show (with animation) for a website and I wanted to do two things:
1. have the background transparent (this way the back grond is the same colour as the website)
2. be able to have it as a auto on and loop so when people type in the web address it automatily starts.
I am not sure if I can in FCP (I have an old version 4.5)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

Re: transparent background
I think you might be able to get a reasonable result by converting your video into flash. You can do that by getting hold of a program called visualhub. Once it's in the .swf format it should work okay. I just tried a quick experiment myself and the hardest part was getting the background colors to match. So, you might have to do a fair bit of trial and error experimentation.

Re: transparent background
transparent bgs for video in FCP are a bit tricky.
in your sequence settings, you have to set your sequence compressor setting to either Animation or None.
(these will produce huge files!)
once you have done that, you have to open the "Advanced" options for the compressor, and make sure that you are using Millions of Colours +.
the plus sign indicates you are creating an Alpha channel.
FCP might not be the solution you are looking for.
