capture HD

Hi guys,

its my first time posting here. I'm having some trouble transferring my HD clips from my camera(canon HV30) to FCP.

FCP couldnt detect my camera at first. then I tried using these settings (easy setup):

HDV - 1080i60 Firewire
Format: HDV

It seemed like FCP detected the camera. BUT if i try to go to log and capture, FCP shuts down. all the time. how do i get through this? please help.

Re: capture HD

Hi kinteru
we will need more information about your setup to help you. Please give us your final cut version, model of the computer and the OS version you are capturing to.
The next thing to be clear about is what format your camera tape(s) are in. Is it DV or HDV, and is it 1080i60 or the PAL standard 1080i50 or is it 108024p or 108025p.
This camera will record in all these settings. It will also need to be switched between HDV and DV.
The first step towards troubleshooting this issue will be to make sure you know what your record format is. Then pick an appropriate easy setup and try to initiate a capture.

Hope this helps
Best Regards
