Rendering master sequences without rendering the nested sequence?

Hi, I have a master sequence with 3 nested sequences. I want to render now before export.

Do I need to render the nested sequences before rendering the master?

Or: Can I just render the master and it will auto render the nested sequences as required?

Cheers and I'm doing it anyway but would like some definitive info if possible. Much appreciated everyone!

Also is there a search function here?

Hi rabid man
my short answer is just render the master sequence.
The result will be the same.
The long answer is why? Export will render the master sequence regardless. If the nested sequences are in a long GOP format codec like HDV you may be waiting on the render for quite a while depending on the length of the master sequence. If you are running the result out wild from the sequence to a tape deck I guess you would have to render it in place, but you will save time by exporting without a render if you are confident that your edit is finished and you need a file as an output.
