THERE IS HOPE!!!

After respectfully turning down the Leicestershire venue's offer of a 20 minute slot, and explaining what Breathing Space is really about, that we're about as far removed from an indie band as one could get, and that any indie-kids that happen to turn up to see us will most likely be hyperventilating by the end of the set, we received this response:

'it's all these bloody kids with their spray on haircuts and screw on jeans, man, they have no desire to cut into valuable drinking time!
A little hyperventillation never did anyone any harm! And as far as I'm concerned the list of influences you have is enough for me to bolt the bloody door shut and keep it to myself! sod the uneducated, unsophisticated and undead, whats what is all that matters...
let us know when you intend to wing our way and I'll set us up a show to keep the locals talking for donkeys...

let me know a little nearer the time when you want to book up as we don't tend to book that far in advance but we'd like it very much if you'd grace our humble little stage...

peace x '

YES, there IS hope!

All I can say now is look out for us announcing a gig in Loughborough fairly soon.

Right now, I need a lie down

Aaand we're back. This is another belter - a response from Mr Wannabe Music Promoter for 2 new live music venues opening in Sept, when asked if we could arrange a headline gig with a max of 2 other bands, and that they be acoustic based for purely logistical reasons.

Mr Wannabe's response:
"Thanks for the mail. Obviously, the main question has to be as a single band on the bill how many people will you attract to the gig. Are you known in Yorkshire? Do you have followers who will travel"?

Fair enough comment from Mr Wannabe, but hang on a minute, here's the punchline..

"One of the main reasons for having up to 4 bands on is to ensure a reasonable attendance. Sadly, the days when venues were full regardless of the band are gone (eh?). Bands have to develop a following regardless of musical genre or ability."

GOOD GRIEF!!!!
