I selected Motorhead because I wasnt into Heep at the time when I was going to see Motorhead. I never really had any kind of urge to go and see Judas Priest.
I now like a lot of other bands, as folk have introduced me to several lately.
My main problem is that I dont have enough time to listen to my favorites, which are Uriah Heep, and Mostly Autumn, with a bit of Pavlovs dog thrown in for good measure!!! emoticon

Thats a shame Pete. Priest are superb. Growing up in the Black Country they were local heroes. Used to drive to work past the club where they played their first gig.......and everyone had their own Priest story (saw KK Downing in an estate agents in Walsall once. My wife once had a Jehovahs witness come to the door. She was wearing a Priest shirt. Turned out the JW had been at school with Rob Halford!)..........

No. It was my wife wearing the Priest shirt. She went to the door thinking this'll scare the J. Witness away - when in fact it just got him talking about da Priest!

We have a family of JWs living two doors away from us. It's not a problem, apart from the regular prayer meetings on Saturday mornings. My son's metal t-shirts do make them wince a bit, though, as does some of the music I play when I'm washing the car or doing stuff in the garden. They must think we're beyond redemption, though, because they've never tried to convert us or anything like that...

How did this get on to Rob Halford and Jehovah's Witnesses ? ...... emoticon ah, anyway.....the gig finding woe continues.

I reckon this could cap them all...the following from a venue in Leicestershire when asked if we could get a gig (baring in mind we're based in York)

"Good Morning, thanks for the ask folks, great music! We've got a support spot free on the 14th June with Envy and Other Sins, Noon and Penfold Gate. it's only a 20 minute slot and its a fair old walk from your gaff to mine..."

20 MINUTES!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAGH

Hi Mark - welcome back! How was Canada? I'm sure you utilised your time to the fullest & consumed plenty of Labbats!
Sorry I missed you at the convention - it was great.....y'man Alex did a fine job although he didn't wear a hat!! emoticon

Back to your post......honestly it beggars belief doesn't it? 20 Minutes????? They must think you live round the corner, take 2 minutes to set up & are a one-man-band with a Bontempi Keyboard!!!!!

Hope it picks up, mate.

I know some bands have tracks that last 20 minutes or more so what the hell would they do in this situation?

Perhaps cut the song of towards the end? LOL emoticon

How can anyone promoting a gig offer a band a 20 minute slot? That's not promotion that's exploitation for their own means, i.e. sell more booze.

Sod 'em I say emoticon

I think this promoter is thinking in terms of generic four chord pub indie bands; the type that only have one actual song, which they play half a dozen times and call a set.
