Chris Johnson - new band
Chris Johnson's new band is called Parade and you can hear a bit of their forthcoming album on their web site:
http://paradeband.com/
It's a surprisingly heavy sound, not at all like other Chris Johnson songs that Mostly Autumn fans will be familiar with.
(Look for a couple of other familiar names in the band, too!)

That sounds excellent. Look forward to it.

Re: Chris Johnson - new band
Here's Parade's official press release:
Parade, the band formed by former Mostly Autumn member, Chris Johnson, release their debut album The Fabric on 17 August.
Chris, who has most recently toured as guitarist for former Marillion frontman Fish, was a featured songwriter on Mostly Autumn's 2007 album Heart Full Of Sky, writing amongst others the songs Silver Glass and Blue Light for the band. He founded Parade to explore a dark side of his songwriting.
"Some of the songs were originally intended for Mostly Autumn," explains Chris, "others started life on tour - at the back of the bus or in various hotel rooms and dressing rooms. For one reason or another everything I was writing had a pretty dark edge which I took a real charge from. I wanted the songs to be performed by a band of musicians whose playing has that energetic and intriguing quality that really excites me."
Joining him on the record is fellow Fish bandmate Gavin Griffiths (Panic Room, Mostly Autumn) on drums and Anne-Marie Helder (Panic Room, Mostly Autumn) on vocals and keyboards. Long-time collaborators Simon Snaize (guitar) and Patrick Berry (bass) complete the line-up.
"We started recording after the Fish tour finished at the end of last year and had some fun exploring the songs. There was a lot of experimentation; we were trying to identify the emotional core of each song and really pull it into focus. Could be with a delicate vocal, a demented guitar solo, or a backward glockenspiel smashed to bits in a modulating filter and fed out through some old TV speakers."
Out of this experimentation The Fabric has emerged with a filmic quality; like the soundtrack to a movie that hasn't been made. Elemental noise and distorted sounds emerge from the songs, framing them and shifting the mood of the album at each turn.
"It is pretty dark and mysterious as we explore deep emotions like anger, loss and fear, but there's a lot of hope in there as well, and a very positive overall message."
The Fabric also features Mostly Autumn's Bryan Josh, Heather Findlay and Olivia Sparnenn.
