I don't doubt the guy can sing, but I have to confess I'm a bit worried by what that guy said on mr.com, that he moves around stage like a demented pixie. emoticon

He certainly has upped the energy level of the band by about 1000%. Demented Pixie (sound like another dodgy prog band from the 70s lol)? I can sort of see what he means. He is certainly a bit of a showman and is enjoying his time fronting the band thats for sure. I seem to remember some JRNY fans giving JSS a some similar criticism for his "showy" style and we know how wrong they were.

Perhaps this should be "What Was Your Last Gig"! But June was as follows:

7th - Foo Fighters (Wembley): managed to miss Page and Jones by leaving early to avoid the crush. I don't think I need to say how I feel about that.

15th - Think Floyd (Buxton Opera House): my first tribute band and although I enjoyed it I don't think I'll be returning in a hurry (but did stay for the encore!).

22nd - Journey (Wolves Civic Hall): it's been said elsewhere but this was a real gem of a night - a great gig indeed.

Journey at the Civic was such a blinding gig that my next gig is Journey at the Nottingham Arena emoticon

To be honest, MA is the only band I've seen (out of what, three? :P) whose singer doesn't move around the stage like a demented pixie.

lol. I shall see you there then PQ.

Be warned - there is a danger of trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice in a row. Saw Queensryche in Bristol last night. The OTHER Queensryche turned up! Whilst, as you know, at the Civic it was well played, enthusiastic and well recieved at Bristol - it wasn't. GT seemed well p*ssed off for most the night and even cut Silent Lucidity from the set. The crowd remained seated through both main sets (sometimes offering polite applause) and the moon was possibly the only place I've been to that suffered a greater lack of atmosphere (in truth I've not actually been to the moon, but you get my point).

I hear what you say about 'Lightning in a bottle', but what the heck, you never know your luck, and it is Journey after all. Anyway, it's Mrs.Q's idea, so if the evening is in anyway a bust, I can laways blame heremoticon

Onto next months gigs (only one left for this month). A slighly more sedate and sensible pacing to next months gigs with considerably less miles to drive and/or fly than June!

3rd SAS band, Southampton
7th Yngwie, Oxford
8th Bowling For Soup, Oxford
10th Bowling For Soup, Bristol
12th Logan, Oxford
14th Def Leppard/Whitesnake/Thunder, Cardiff
17th GMT, Nuneaton
19th-20th Rockinbeerfest, Cambridge
23rd Alice Cooper, Southampton
