Max: abandoned in a small bird cage in an empty apartment in the mountains

Max was abandoned in an empty apartment when his former caretakers left him and the bird cage he had been living in with the trash. A woman retrieved him from the landlord from the apartment located in the mountains. Another person drove a donated car (with donated gas) to pick him up: a 12-hour turnaround drive.

Max had a bad case of mites and would scratch himself which resulted in his bleeding. He was treated with Ivermectin for at least a month before the mites were resolved. He later developed pneumonia and a possible heart condition. He was treated for both but his condition only worsened until his lungs completely shut down. More information and photos may be seen in his photo album.

Not too nice. I recently was contacted about another guinea pig ... this one was abandoned in a cage on a street corner: http://imageevent.com/bizylizy/miscellaneous/sfabandon
