I would love to watch this new program, but only if it has e-subs. I've dropped a note to UTB asking about subbing. If I hear back from them, I'll share the answer.

Thanks nchristi, I'm hoping it will have subs, it didn't mention anything about it on the site, but UTB usually has subs for most of it's shows. Unless this is a show made for the English speaking audience, and has a English speaking host. (But, I doubt it... LOL!)

Re: J-Travel: Japan's Beautiful Scenery

I've always wished they would e-sub their Friday morning news program, too. But, alas and alack, it has never been done.

This scenery program will be so interesting, I am sure. I have always been particularly interested in seeing the different regions of Japan. For example, I like to watch Dotch food battle mostly to see the sections on their "special ingredients." I love to see the various regions and the "real" people who farm, or fish, or raise livestock—whatever. That's always my favorite part.

Then, too, I sorely miss the travelogues that follow the taiga drama. That always brought everything alive for me and I so enjoyed seeing the present day locations. I hate it when a new taiga begins and they split the first episode. They always put the travelogue in as a filler, but it only makes me angry that I can't see it at the end of EVERY episode! emoticon

J-Travel: Japan's Beautiful Scenery

I think this would be nice. My son hopes to travel to Japan so this will be nice to watch. Do you think they will continue it after May or go back to the daily dramas.

We actually enjoy the Friday news program. Probably because we see the male anchor so much out and about.

I'm looking forward to this. It will be a nice change of pace from the rather bland asadoras they selected the last few times.

Sadly, no subtitles. But I'm actually okay without them and my son gets some practice in. There is definitely some beautiful scenery shown.

The scenery is definitely beautiful. It is hard to figure out some things without subtitles but we're still watching it. I still think we'll try to catch the entire thing
