K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Note -- saw an article in the Han cinema newsletter. The actor who plays Baeko said that the audience was getting frustrated with the DP - Beako relationship and was almost ready to give up on it. So the writers were going to heat up the relationship! Looks like we getting to see the boiloer heat up in this and the next few episodes.

Like most of you here, I am tired at looking at that pouty mouth of Sua - whether she's happy or whining, she's still pouting!
Songjae - his cross is getting heavier everyday! and the grave is getting deeper! He knows deep in his heart he loves Jiyeong - that's why he can't leave her alone!
Love the scene between Ujin and Songjae - Ujin is beginning to outshine the Songjae actor - in my opinion; he is just so adorable!
I do like Miae also but like some of you have said, her everyday menu never changes; and she only has one word in her dictionary - trouble!!

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Looks like our next big source of aggravation will be the Miae/Dalhyeon/Sonya triangle. As usual, Miae is making a unilateral decision and secretly maneuvering others (her family) to clear her path for her. Dalhyeon does NOT want to get back together with her. He's trying to get rid of her as much as he can and still keep things good for his son. (When he gathered her up and bodily rushed her out the door to the street, it didn't exactly look like a reconciliation!)
Since Miae has announced that she's going to show up every single day at Dalhyeon's work place, and has told her family they are reconciling (Chan will be told that, too), the pressure will be on Dalhyeon and Sonya. Dal might remain strong, but Sonya seems more inclined to just bow out. Besides, now Sonya will look like the home wrecker to the family if she continues a relationship with Dalhyeon. Since Sonya lives with the family, Miae has now placed her in a really terrible position.
The previews last night were great! Sua says she wants a divorce. Seonjae tells her he's sick and tired of everything and for her to go ahead and do whatever she wants! Sua left standing there with mouth hanging open. But, knowing Sua, since she didn't get the reaction she was wanting, she'll probably run after Seonjae and beg at his feet that she didn't mean it....

I know this is really unimportant, but it bugs me. "Cross-eyed" means one or both eyes go inward, toward the nose. Seonjae's eyes are just the opposite—his left eye goes outward, which is commonly called "wall-eyed."
ah ah, thanks to teach me for this term "wall-eyed". May be that's the reason Sua likes him so much.
I have married friend like that, act like still single, but they all married for years, they understand each other, and tell each other would be away for some trip, not like Sua just married not too long - couple months right - and start to go out alone, and lie to your spouse? what kind of love they basic on to be marry?
At least Danpung told dad about her feeling with the Dr.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
I thought it was interesting that when Miae quarreled with Dalhyeon and Sonya at Dalhyeon's workplace she addressed Dalhyeon not as yobo but as chagaeya (sp?). Yobo is the term wives, even ex-wives, would normally use to address an ex-husband with whom they are on good terms. Chagaeya is the term used to address your boyfriend-remember Sua calling Seon Jae chagaeya over and over again while giggling when they first acknowleged their relationship as a couple?
Think of Miae not as the ex-wife of Dalhyeon and more like a jealous former girlfriend..

How about DP's father telling the mother (and the doctor) - that DP can't imagine herself sleeping in the same bed with him (URGGHH) - and living with him. This is going to be like a big slap on the doctor's face., I hope DP tells the doctor how she really feels as he still don't understand the meaning of NO - I DON'T LOVE YOU!!

I once called a Korean guy friend “Yabo”. I thought it was an endearing way of greeting a friend. His wife said to me “No,no, you can not call my husband that!”. Learning Korean from dramas can be dangerous sometimes!!

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Pandapop,
Dangshin (당신) is "darling". It also means "you" and I can only figure out which is which with the help of the context. Newlyweds would probably use chagaeya , yobo tends to be used more by couples past the honeymoon stage. I read somewhere that use of yobo by newlyweds carries a faintly sarcastic connotation.
As I understand it, if you have not been or are not currently married to someone you cannot call them yobo. If you are on good terms with a man older than you you can call him oppa or you could attach ssi to his first name. Oppa is brother so when a woman calls a man oppa he could be her brother or an older friend or her boyfriend. Notice Jiyeong calls Ujin sonbei (senior) which is a polite form of address that maintains some distance and lets him know she isn't ready for more yet. In one show a woman having an affair with her married co-worker called him sonbei, which I suppose was a way of acknowledging that while they knew each other privately quite well publicly they were supposed to be formal. If Jiyeong calls him oppa then figure Ujin is well in with her. So you have some interest in Ujin then you call him Ujin ssi and that lets him know you are interested.
When Danpung is irritated at Baekho she calls him Kang Baekho ssi-adding that family name makes this form of address very formal and strictly business. If and when Danpung calls him Baekho ssi then you know their relationship has gotten much more intimate. If Danpung ever calls Baekho chagaeya she has probably done or is thinking about doing something her father will not want them to do until after the wedding.
Sua was criticized for not acting like a married woman and rightfully so. My point in bringing up the way Miae addressed Dalhyeon is that Miae does not act like a woman who was married either. Yes, Miae is a mother but much of the time Chan seems to be an afterthought to her.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
I'm a little late in posting this, but it's obvious Seonjae loves Jiyeong--when she calls, he drops everything and dashes off to her. When wife Sua calls or asks, he has an excuse--work, meeting, etc. But he chose Sua, so lurking outside the vet's borders on obsessive. What does he do, stop off at Jiyeong's before going home to Sua (well, if it was me, I'd just keep going!!)? I sure hope they don't get SJ and JY back together.
