Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

Italiansoul, I'm another one that thinks the professions of some of these characters are played by actors far too young. I saw "Man in the Vineyard" and couldn't believe how young that Dr was and here he is now, playing a regular aged young man. But the plastic surgeonin this one is really unbelievable. He truly does look to be around 17 yrs old. I'm curious how old he really is.

Now rich girl has smacked Baekho, can you just imagine how they will handle becoming siblings? WOW!

And since they keep showing rich girl running into (forgot his name) Vet girls boyfriend, I think they'll put them together. I think previews show the rich girl falling into him or kissing him or something.

I'm still trying to get people organized on this show. It takes me a while.

K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

This show appears to be another one that will go on and on because of all the relationships that are being developed which for some seemed to be intertwined more than usual.

Probably Baekho will end up with the girl instead of the plastic surgeon neither of which are very attractive or interesting characters or actors.

I do hope the vet woman does not lose her boyfriend to the spoiled daughter of the President of the food company.

Maybe, it is just me, but the young leads as a group are not as attractive and others during this time slot have been.

After "Dog & Wolfe" I have not found a show to interest me.

I think Baekho will end up with Dan and I think Dan's brother will end up with Sua. The vet girl will be dumped.

I'm still trying to find myself in this drama. It's pretty good and I enjoy it but it doesn't have me 100% hooked .. yet..

i am not liking the "wimpiness" of the dad towards his disrespectful, bratty, selfish, rude daughter. (perhaps that is why she is so rotten...never received any boundaries or proper instruction which surprises me with the rough and harsh grandmother that she has.) Grandmother will have a coronary if her son marries Dongli and her granddaughter gets involved with Dan's brother (although he has a good job, isn't he from a lower class family even though his mother tries to put on airs of wealth and superiority?) i for one will not want to see Sua get the vet's daughter's man but she better not sink into the pit of low self-worth and unworthiness or she will lose him to that snobby girl.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

The most interesting couple so far is Dongji and Mansu, but I'm mega-bored with the cliché opposing mother, especially at Mansu's age. Although, there has to be a secret to Mom's opposition—especially since she brought up the "Kangs" becoming part of her family. (Baekho's name is Kang. Mansu's family name is Bong.)

I'm finding little if anything interesting so far in the younger couples. The only one half-way interesting is Seongjae—and it looks like he's turning out to be a big disappointment. I'm sure some of these characters will grow on me as time goes by and as their behavior changes, but so far, they're all duds in my book. On the other hand, isn't this how most us usually feel at the beginning of a new daily? It's the exceptional drama that grabs us from the get-go.

Some deleted scenes from Episode 9.

There's a scene of Dan in her office and everybody teasing her. My guess is it's about her being with the well-to-do plastic surgeon. She sits at her desk pondering, then the next scene is Hyeonu (plastic surgeon) in his office receiving a call. We don't hear the caller's voice, but it is a semi-lengthy call and he's very happy.

From the art gallery, Sua calls Seongjae. Looks like she's asking him to go to the musical, but he turns her down. She throws the tickets at her gallery friend and they go together. Later as they enter the theater lobby, Sua spots Seongjae standing there alone, waiting. She approaches him. They both say hello. A guy comes running behind them and knocks Sua up against Seongjae. Their eyes meet and linger.... (Golly gee, what an unusual romance device in a drama. emoticon) Just then, Jiyeong comes running up and sees them. Seongjae takes his hand off Sua, puts his arm around Jiyeong and off they walk, leaving Sua irked.

Episode 10 (Tues)

At the veterinarian's house, he and Aunt (his older sister?) have had it with DQ (Drama Queen, younger sister). They're on their way to her room when Jiyeong comes home. DQ isn't home—her ex-husband is out chasing her down the street.

Later, Jiyeong hears DQ coming home, runs out and pulls her into her room to avoid Dad and Aunt. Jiyeong tells her what's happening... probably that Jaebok (the vet) met with Dongji and the cat is out of the bag. Can't tell if DQ actually tells Jiyeong they are divorced now, or not. But, I suspect she might have, as Jiyeong is surprised at what she is saying.

Over at Dan's place, Dad is coming out of the shower, giddy with happiness at having found his wife's money. Seongjae comes home from the theater and sees his father laughing. Dan and Mom come out of her room, having discussed buying a car. Dad is still laughing at his secret, while Mom can't figure it out and is annoyed. Later in bed, Dad is still laughing.

After the drunken kiss, Sua goes inside. Grams sees her drunk and questions her. Sua yells in frustration at Grams, goes to her room and flops herself down on the bed. Grams follows and tries to find out what's wrong. Sua blabbers a bunch of angry stuff (sounds like she blames it all on her dad wanting to marry Dongji), then cries in her pillow. Grams waits downstairs in the chair until Mansu comes home...

I know we have to respect our gradparents but that Grandmother is too much. Her son is old and was a good
son before by doing what he wanted him to do and left Dongji. She is too much. We have to earn respect, we can only be respected if we respect others. We are not entitled to it because of our age. He should lived separately when they get married.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

So, Dongji had to write a letter stating she would never get any monetary gain from this marriage. Granny is going to ruin Dongji if Mansu dies. And you just know that Granny will make life miserable for Don (Dongji) when she lives in the house with them.. Granny won't even allow Don and Mansu to have a wedding. I guess they'll register their marriage but that's it. Don won't even be able to be on the family register.

I agree with others who said Granny is taking this too far. SHe is dictating to Mansu what he can do with his life. Excuse me... this is a man well old enough to be a grandfather himself. He runs a big business and he has to beg his mother if he can marry the woman he loves?

I bet Baekho turns out to be Mansu's son!! I wish that would happen because Granny is just too dang mean about Baekho. There's something about Baekho being a 'Kang' that is really irking Granny. Maybe she hated Baekho's father's family? (if he is really a Kang).

I like Dan. She's a sweet honest girl and I am so sure she will end up with Baekho.

Sua is so pushy. She wants Seongja (SG?) and the only reason she wants him is because he wasn't panting after her like other men do. I just hate that Sua will most likely get her man. I'm sure she will turn into a warm kind person by show's end but right now, it bothers me that vet girl will likely be dumped.. I just hate seeing good people hurt.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

I wonder if registering a marriage and being put on the family registry are the same thing? Adding a child (Baekho) would be a separate deal, but it seems to me that if Dongji and Mansu get legally married (register their marriage), then Dongji would appear on his family registry as his wife. Didn't Grams tell Dongji not to have a wedding? Maybe they'll just have a little party but no legal marriage.

And what about Mansu? Is he going to not register his marriage? I guess he won't if Dongji insists, but I still can't see a man like him not wanting to legalize his wedding and family registry. (Thank goodness the "family registry" is soon to be a thing of the past in So. Korea. I should check that out and see what the status is for that.)

I feel sorry for Baekho being left behind by his mother, but he wouldn't want to live in that nasty household with the likes of Grams and Sua... not to mention how he would see his mother being mistreated by them all the time. Too bad Dongji can't keep the apartment for Baekho, Dalhyeon and Chan. Is it part of the beauty salon, thus has to be sold?

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)

Nice wedding. I like how it was laid out with the cake in the middle of the room. (Were those Bing cherries on it? Unusual. But the color did match the tie on Dongji's hanbok.)

Very touching scenes between Dongji and Baekho. Made me cry. For both of them. Regardless of Baekho's failings in life so far, at least he puts on a happy face and genuinely wants his mom to find happiness.

Grams is a hard one to figure out. She was half-way decent to Baekho at the house and during dinner. Yet, at the wedding she looked so cold. She lost her dignity and good manners. Sua... Oh, lord. We'll have to wait for another 50 episodes for her to grow up!

Episode 11 (Wed)

At Happy Events, Sonya gets in trouble, the supervisor yelling at her. Dalhyeong sticks up for her and argues back. They're at an event dressed as Shrek and his girlfriend. They take a break; Sonya is discouraged. Chan and Dalhyeon jump in front of her and do a funny dance, making her smile.

Later at Baekho's apartment, he dumps the bag of goodies from Dan onto the table. Chan is excited! Looks like a couple toys in it as well as snacks. Everybody's happy. Baekho calls Dan to thank her for the treats. Dan's office workers want to know about the call. Gyeonghun (Cider Park actor) knows Baekho and now they're all wondering about Dan and Baekho. She brushes it off. (I wonder if she tells them she gave treats to his "son"?)

Back at the apartment, Baekho suddenly looks at the time. Mom is due home shortly and they scramble to gather up everything and hide. (Dalhyeon and Chan are secretly staying in Mom's apartment, coming and going during her absence.) Suddenly Mom comes home. As they talk, Dalhyeon lets the cat out of the bag that he and his wife are separated. Dongji is hurt, then looks at Chan and realizes he has no mother now. She quietly takes him to the bathroom and bathes him for bed.

Over at the vet's, the Aunt is getting on Drama Queen's case. It is late and Dad is worried that his daughter isn't home yet. He calls her... voice message. Then he calls Seonjae, who is walking home. He is surprised that Jiyeong is missing. He tries to call her; her phone is turned off. Seonjae is surprised. Dad gets his jacket and is about to go look for her when she comes through the gate.

Jiyeong goes to her room and is upset. Her phone rings. It is Seonjae again, but she ignores his call.

Episode 12 (Thurs)

Seonjae comes to the vet office to check on Jiyeong. She is sheepish acting (since she ignored his calls). He takes her out for tea. They have their argument and he leaves.

At the Shrek event, Dalhyeon's turn to get yelled at by the manager. He is very discouraged. Sonya comes back with Chan, sees how down Dalhyeon is and they both cheer him up. (This reminds me of Chicken Man in Chill Sisters. He meets a nice woman and his rotten ex-wife enters the picture to ruin their happiness.)

At Bonjour, Dan is flitting around checking products with her clipboard. She spots Baekho. He asks her about rice cookers as a wedding gift. Dan thinks to herself... probably that Baekho is going to marry the mother of his child. She takes shows him all the rice cookers. A sales person in uniform approaches them and assumes that Baekho and Dan are a couple looking for a rice cooker. Baekho denies it and the sales lady apologizes, then remarks they look like a couple. "What?!" Baekho and Dan blurt out in unison. Dan is saved by the bell. Her cellphone, that is. It is Hyeonu who wants her to meet him outside. (Where he gives her the magazines.)

Jongsun has tea at Mrs. Choe's house. Mrs. Choe takes her hand and fawns all over her. Jongsun is beside herself. It almost looks like a "You're my only friend" scene.
