Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
LIIKEABLE? Definitely, for me. This drama may fall short of the caliber of BB and PIH, but I'm enjoying it much more than the last one. I feel it's superior in every aspect.
The problem is that CA is about 10 episodes ahead of the east coast It's not possible to have a relevant dialog or timely discussion, and without Addie's headings in bold print indicating synopses and deleted scenes, I find myself inadvertantly reading in advance about episodes yet to air here.
I 'm wondering if mention was ever made about Dongji's first husband and Baekho's father (or supposed father)??
Isn't little Chan a charmer? I think I'm as smitten with him as I was with Yunhu.

On Dongji's husband/Baekho's father, only a couple things have been mentioned. We were led to believe early on that Granny broke up Mansu and Dongji and Dongji eventually married someone else, Mr. Kang. (Mansu is Bong.) Dongji gave birth to Kang Baekho.
Even though SoCal saw the following quite a while ago, I'm not sure if you've seen this episode yet, Numsie, so I'll spoiler protect these remarks on Granny's feelings. class reveal class spoiler The other tidbit is that Granny strongly dislikes the Kangs—whoever they might be. At the dinner table one night she got upset about Baekho and said he is "cheeky just like the Kangs." Obviously, Granny has some connection with the Kang family, presumably Baekho's paternal family.
This reminds me of a couple other dramas from quite a while ago. The plot there was that the rich elders were dirt poor in their early years, and/or there were business deals that went terribly awry. One family cheated the other and went on to become rich. The hatreds sprang from then, but were covered over and not talked about, the rich not wanting to remember.
Granny seems way too bothered by Baekho's existence and the money issues. Something is fishy in Denmark...

Baekho should be fired. He is so irresponsible and immature! It reminds of that photographer on Daughters in Law. Suhyeon should just have fired him even if he was the best photog. in town. I don't think those behaviours will fly here!

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Baekho is certainly a lost cause at this point, but I'm sure he will turn things around eventually (but when, I hope it is soon) Sometimes his goofy expressions make me angry because they are so over the top but now I'm getting used to them.
Sua is irritating, but I can't take the wishy-washyness of Seonjae.
And granny and Seonjae's mom, don't get me started. It seems as if they might get a shock soon though.

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
I think Seonjae gave us the scoop on himself a few nights ago when he was at the café with Jiyeon after his drunk. When she offered him iced coffee, he said he liked that way back in college, but tastes change and he no longer has a taste for it.
Unfortunately, that's the situation with Jiyeon. He liked and wanted her during college days, but his taste has evolved into something else now that he's older and more experienced. It's only guilt and a sense of obligation that makes him feel he should stick with Jiyeon.
I think that is what has held him up in introducing her to his parents. If he takes her home it is a formal move toward engagement and marriage. Now that Sua and financial ambition/success have entered Seonjae's life, he's beginning to realize that, while Jiyeon is a sweet, wonderful person, he is more attracted to a rich, sophisticated sex kitten like Sua. Jiyeon has become "iced coffee" beside Sua.
I can't really blame Seonjae for that. I don't like it, but what a young man feels and desires in college is a far cry from what he will probably feel and want as he nears 30. Such is life...

nchristi, totally in agreement with you on your posting!
“My taste has change” …
OUCH!... Such a strong way of saying, but to sweet innocent Jiyeon, she didn’t get-it. So sad….
I turned off the TV at that point...couldn't go on.....

K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Well, if Seonjae can be blinded by money than he deserves a spoiled, self-centered child as his wife to be. Sua so far has shown little or no redeeming qualities as a person even in this silly little comedy. Her looks are not very special nor does she seem to have any sensuous qualities.
But , the character I like the least is Beakho. He is one of the weakest lead actors I have seen in a long time.
Please, someone connected with the show should stop him from slobbering continually and having such amateurish facial expressions. He needs acting lessons desperately.

K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
This is my first post for this show. I'm from NJ, so I'm trying
not to check too often with the CA people, who are ahead. I didn't mind so much with Heaven/Sky?Earth because nothing much ever happened on that show.
I'm in agreement with many that this is better than "heaven/sky/earth" but not as good as the Chill Sisters, Bizarre Bunch and Pure in Heart. However, I will give it a chance.
My thoughts on the characters:
Baekho: I like him. He's very immature, but he seems to have his heart in the right place. I cheered when he told off his mother (more on her later)
Miae, Shopaholic Woman and her husband, evil mother-in-law,Sua: These are characters that aren't likable but aren't supposed to be, so I enjoy them (but would not in real life, of course!)
The vet family/Sonya/Danpal: These characters are supposed to be likable, and so far give me no great impression. As for Seonjae--oddly enough, I think Sua is a better match for him than the vet tech. She'll probably wind up with the guy with the bow tie who works with her. Sua will turn nice after Seonjae's improved family turns her around (this won't be for another 140 episodes, of course.)
Baekho's mother: I really can't stand her. We're supposed to like her, but she's a self-centered you know what. She's giving up everything so she can have what--sex? Mansu doesn't look like a stud muffin, but he must be giving off pheramones or something. She gave up her house, practically renounced her own son, signed away her finances and gets treated like dirt just so she can say she's married to him? I really want to shake her. I hope he really is Baekho's father (which I hadn't thought of until I came on this board--I hope you're right, it might explain her incredibly disloyal and passive behavior.)
