The main family in PIH was headed by a Grandfather, who later married the younger woman. Even there, though, the family was run primarily by the DIL.

Maybe we mostly see Grandmothers because a) women live longer; b) they run the family (men bring home the money and usually stay out of family affairs); and c) the grandmothers cause many more problems than the men seem to, thus better, more complicated drama. emoticon

I'm so grateful to those of you who always remember where these actors last appeared. I look at someone like Jo dong-hyeok and go crazy with trying to place where I know him from! (Where was the pen-kicking, air traveler girl's recent appearance?)

I haven't finished watching last night's opening episode but I wasn't impressed. That seems to be par for the course when a new one starts up. I can't remember a daily drama that grabbed me from the first episode.

What is encouraging is the all-star cast. So, I am looking forward to seeing this one roll out and expect it to be a superior production, if nothing else. There certainly are enough characters (family groupings) to supply interest on many fronts.

Caught the first episode last night. Not sure yet, if I'll get hooked, but it usually takes me a few episodes to know, whether or not, I'll like it.

The 3 female leads are VERY cute and, as long as the story is interesting, I'll watch it emoticon

I realized that when I first start a drama I have a VERY hard time trying to look at the characters and read the subs. But after I've become acquainted with the people and know who lives with who or who is related to who then I have no problem at all watching every expression and still being able to read the subs... Why is that?

Anyway, I am enjoying this drama already. I am sure I will end up liking the lazy guy but right now he's irritating me. I mean, to stand at the store eating all the samples? Who'd do that? I walk thru Cosco or Sam's Club and will try samples but I'd never stand there and make a meal out of it (although I've left with a content tummy at times)..

I think the lazy guy will end up with the girl that just got the promotion. She also reminds me of Jisu on Sky/Earth. Something about her smile. She has a similar look to her.

So, the spoiled rich girl belongs to the man who is after his long time love, Minsook (I'll get her correct name later). He must have loved her way back when and they parted ways and now he's found her again. He doesn't want to let her go this time... I can't see his spoiled daughter graciously accepting this woman as her stepmother. We just know there will be trouble ahead!!

From the subs to the similarities between Dan-pong (I think is her name) & Jisu, one of my favorites from High as the Sky!!

Yeah, the lazy guy is a bit irritating right now but so was Muyeong, Jisu's husband, at the beginning.

I think I'm going to like this drama.

nsheldon - I thought they were one and the same actress - unless she has a twin? Anybody - isn't it the actress who played Jisu?

I looked on the board and it shows Han Hyo Joo as the actress who played Jisu on 'Sky/Earth'. The actress in 'Likeable' is Han Ji-Hye. Similar name but I think they are different actresses. But, I'm almost ALWAYS wrong .... LOL
