KBS SYNOPSIS
A Quest for True Meaning of a Family class ul “Likeable or Not” searches into the true meaning of family as a step-son, Baek-ho, truly becomes a member of the step-family after his mother remarries. A true family is not based on blood-relations or the same surnames but on love for and interest in each other.Stories of Love, Success and Failure class ul Good-for-nothing Baek-ho meets his formidable match Dan-pung and starts bottom up climbing up the latter to success. In the world where money seems to be the power, Baek-ho’s quest for love contrasts to Seon-jae’s ambitious ascent and subsequent downfall. Our Neighbors’ Small Triumphs Will Give Hope class ul The “Likable of Not” presents the life of an upright civil servant, a single father who raises his daughter with much affection and self-sacrifice. At the same time, it will look into struggles divorced couples would have to go through. Also, the drama will show a glimpse of what it would be like for a foreign woman to work in Korea with her “Korean Dream.”CAST/CHARACTERS
Kim Ji-seok as Kang Baek-ho
Baek-ho Looks Fine on the Outside but Empty Inside. class ul He is a good-looking lad but is jobless and ambitionless. On every weekend, he visits horse tracks. One of few good qualities he has is his forever optimistic view and friendliness toward anyone around him. He doesn’t believe in hard-work but rather in chance. One day, his mother marries a rich guy. Baek-ho dreams of a new high life until he meets Dan-pung.
Han Ji-hye as Na Dan-pung
Dan-pung the Wise Owl class ul Growing up under the showdown of her brilliant brother, she has become a quick-witted, adaptable, and competitive woman. She has truly earned what she has. The only thing left on her “to do” list is finding a right guy. She is searching for Mr. Right but bumps into Baek-ho, the last person she would even lay an eye on.
Jo dong-hyeok as Na Seon-jae
Seon-jae is the most eligible bachelor with befitting charisma and ability. class ul He is not only good-looking but well-mannered. He has earned an MBA aboard and is working as a fund manager. He is reaping success after success with his through and through investment tactics. However, for success, he can turn a back on his long-loved one. He is sensitive to power of money and thus come head-to-head with his upright father who has worked as a civil servant all his life.
Yu In-yeong as Bong Su-a
Su-a the Spoiled Brat class ul She lacks neither beauty nor money but is still greedy. She has to have the one she wants whether it is a person or a thing. Her obsession, at times, seems unbearable. She went to France to study art but returns home with an excuse to attend his father’s second wedding. She may be the apple of an eye when she wants to be. So, her father and grandmother cannot deny her anything. However, she can be menacing to those she doesn’t like, for instance, her step-mother and step-brother.
Yi yeong-eun as Hwang Ji-yeong
Ji-yeong is the epitome of love and innocence class ul She runs a small veterinary with her father. She has been dating Seon-jae for long time. She is beautiful inside and out. She is considerate and yet strong. She shows her love through her sacrifice. Note: I read that the filming began in August and the broadcast in Korea began in September. They have only a month "in the can" before they begin airing, so you can see how easily the drama can be changed depending on the mood of the audience.

Kim Ji-Seok was also in Man From Grapevine (?) with Ko Eun-chan/Princess Hours and Han Ji-Hye's latest I guess was Cloud of Stairs. If this drama is not too long maybe I should stand by.

Jo dong-hyeok
Yay! A brand new daily drama!…I like Jo dong-hyeok in Mr. Goodbye as Kyle. He was very cool in that role. From the description here, he’s going to be a bad Hottie!!!…I like it already.
And then, there is Cider Park from BB!..He is going to be an office mate again.. He had a brief appearance in Sky/Earth as a loan shark. But he wasn’t mean enough there. I like the teddy bear kind of role he plays…Hopefully he will have more screen time this time.
Looking forward to a new journey together here...

Re: K-Drama: 미우나 고우나 (Likable or Not)
Since we are starting another drama, I’ve been wanting to ask this question for the longest time….
Looks like in this drama , there will be another grandma in a family without a grandpa.!! How come Korean families usually don’t have both grandparents? It's always single grandparent...... There must be a whole lot of widows and widowers in Korea.? or they all got divorced before they got old?
Do you remember any family with both grandparents lately? Maybe I have not seen enough k-dramas like you’all!
