kind, respectful and loving are not synonymous with door mat. Hoping Groomie maintains his integrity and doesn't cave into the pressures of those around him. Bridie's dad appears to have the best advice for him (based on his own experience) It has taken 28 years for Bridey to become who she is and it will take a lot of humbling and committment for her to transform her "ugliness into something worth being around and worthy to be called a wife.
When Dad takes a more active roll and asserts his wisdom more, she will have a better chance at becoming a better person. We can see that mom, herself, is so lacking and in need of transformation that she can't give to her daughters what they really need. She burned her husband so badly in the early years of their marriage and even though he remained as her husband and kept the family together, all love and respect was lost. How sad...so many wasted years...all because of pride, the distorted views of mankind, money and power. She has cut herself off from what she really desires and needs and her daughter is following right down the same path but maybe our handsome, man of depth will provide that fork in the road that will change her destiny.
Eunha has found the perfect match for her insecurities and needs for love, acceptance and attention. As much as I like LB, he, too, suffers greatly with self-image problems and can be easily "guilted" into going along with Eunha's plans. Before this series ends, I am hoping that he steps up and becomes a real man. Jisu, so far, appears to be the only one that can help him do that.
Taesik, although not the most "gorgeous man" on the set, is truly a gem!

That's another reason I think that Groomie/Bridey will eventually get back together. Bridey's father adores Groomie. He had the son he wanted. He had a friend in Groomie. Groomie is someone that Bridey's dad respects. Groomie is most likely just like dad was before he married RM.

Dad said he wanted them to divorce because he wanted Groomie to be protected (from the same life he (dad) has endured)... He sees the kind of man Groomie is... honorable, sure, steady, with strong family ties. He would hate to see Groomie lose those wonderful traits by continuing in a marriage with that blood sucking spider Bridey.

Bridey will have to learn some lessons on basic human behavior. She has lots to learn because she is lacking much!

Curly Carrot - you are SO right in your description of LB and Eunha. Both of them are really needy. He's got to step up and get some self-respect and self-esteem. He can't be in a relaitonship with Jisu without it and I am pretty sure that with it he could never be in a relaitonship with Eunha. She is really scary and he just hasn't got the guts to deal with her intrusion into his life. Maybe Groomie is having problems with his wife but it seems to me that he at least tried to express himself and his goals to her and it wans't working - not for lack on his part.

If LB could get to the point where he could express himself to Jisu without fear and then also handle Eunha and RM the way he should - oh well, I guess that would shorten the dramatic tension! emoticon

I can't fault LB for his relationship woes with Eunha. While we Americans are currently in a psychological phase of assigning to ourselves all responsibility for anything and everything that happens to us, Koreans are just the opposite. Their responsibility is not for their own personal satisfaction, but to ensure the happiness of the people around them. They feel/take responsibility for causing both happiness and unhappiness to other people.

Eunha's extreme reaction causes LB to feel guilty, that he spoke too harshly to his fragile "little sister" and brought her to tears. I don't think LB's reaction is so much "doormat" as it is simply Korean.

Same with Groomie. It isn't weakness that kept Groomie trying to compromise and make the marriage and life with RM work out. It is an incredible strength he has. When he saw he was at a dead end, he again mustered up the strength to end the marriage and leave.

"Weak" and "doormat" are terms more appropriate to Jaedu. He is the opposite of Groomie. Jaedu did give up and allowed his wife to completely emasculate him. Now he's little more than an empty shell having no one's respect—banished to his little den and going to work—losing even the respect he had as the older brother in his own family.

As others have mentioned above, Jaedu recognizes and accepts this about his own life; therefore, he wants like everything to keep the same thing from happening to Groomie. I am actually hoping that eventually Groomie will have the effect on poor Jaedu to embolden him to take back his manhood, fatherhood, and rightful place in that family. I really enjoy seeing Groomie and Jaedu together... they have a wonderful father/son relationship.

Back to LB and Eunha, while he takes the responsibility for his harshness, she does not take responsibility for her presumptuous bad manners. But that's because she genuinely doesn't seem to know better... yet. She only sees and knows what she feels as the spoiled child she is. She doesn't think... she reacts. Like her older sister, EH sees herself as the center of the universe. Hasn't she been taught that if she throws a fit she will always get what she wants? I'm sure Eunha is completely confounded at being unable to eliminate Jisu from the emotional equation. This is new, uncharted territory for Eunha, but first she'll try what she knows best—a guilt-inducing tantrum.

In a fugurative sense, I think what we need to do is kill off the main vampire and maybe the spell can be broken. The mother of these two girls has succeeded in making a zombie out of her husband and a pair of blood-sucking sirens out of her two daughters. I don't know who it will be that will open up the coffin and drive a stake through her black heart, but I'm pretty sure that this is the key element needed to put things right. As is the case with so many (if not all of these dramas) the mother/mil is depicted as an icy-hearted witch who has to be shown the error of her ways by someone who is pure and fair before she can begin to thaw out and retake her place as the caring nurturer of life instead of the foul godess of disharmony and cynicism.

I think it may be LB that will pull the sword from the stone. The wayward lad is not yet aware of his power, but he is a pure and noble knight. My money is on him.

Where do I go to place my bet?

I am just realizing what a good looking man the Professor is - he is quite "spoony " .

They ( the prof and MyoungJu ) are a delightful couple ,and who knew he had feelings for her all this time
 too!!

I hope nothing awful happens to them ...they have enough obstacles already with out some thing worse .

SangHyoung did the right thing ...EunJu is too much .and I don't even want to start on EunHu !!

class p Episode 37 (Friday) - Deleted Scenes

Grams, Bubs, TG, and M-Grams at the table... class ul All discussing Groomie's plight. Grams is worked up. Bubs gets tired of it, gets up and goes into his room, where Groomie is unpacking his boxes. Bubs complains about Groomie putting some books in the bookcase. Groomie stops, gets an annoyed look on his face, gets up and leaves the bedroom. Bubs sighs, then looks around at the open boxes (a mess) and complains to himself about that bothering him.

As Bubs shoves boxes aside, he comes across an envelope that has fallen out of Groomie's things. He takes the document out. Ominous music begins playing and Bubs has come across something that has shocked him. Maybe it is the unregistered marriage certificate for Groomie and Eunju? Just then Groomie walks in, Bubs says something and Groomie grabs the document out of Bubs' hand. Bubs argues with Groomie about it in a self-righteous manner. It looks as though Groomie asks Bubs to keep this information to himself. Bubs keeps arguing, escalating his voice like he's going to run right out to the front room and tell the whole family. Groomie takes his uncle's forearm and pleads with him to keep quiet. Suddenly Groomie says something seriously to Bubs, who waves his hand at G and says "alright, alright." I'm only guessing but it looks like Groomie may have brought up something he knows about Bubs that Bubs wants to keep secret.

M-Ja sits alone in her room crying... Cut to Taesik sitting alone in the cafe, drinking. class center *****
Eunju returns from the bar.... class ul Mom and Dad greet her as she stumbles in stinking drunk. She is happier than we've ever seen her in this drama, laughing and joking around... a huge smile on her face. RichMom tries to drag her away quickly to get her out of Dad's sight. But Dad stands there silently, listening to Eunju talk. Finally he asks her a couple questions, which she answers. He is angry but very controlled and barely raises his voice. By the look on Dad's face and Mom's reaction, Eunju might even be saying something about their marriage and years of misery. (?) It is a lengthy scene.

RM takes Eunju to her room where she slumps over on her bed. Then there is a close-up of EJ crying and being upset over Groomie. Meanwhile, Groomie walks up to the restaurant and sees his father inside drinking. class center *****

In the first scene with Groomie and Bub, Bub comes across the paperwork of when LB was in trouble and Groomie took him out of the poilice station. Family doesn't know about that. Bub was shcoked to see that Groomie paid $6000.00 to get LB out of jail (?)....or trouble whatever it is. Bub said because of Groomie LB isn't learning his lesson cause he always saves his back and he should have given that $ to his parents and they would easliy live without financial woriies for 2 months. And then Bub says that's why he doesn't like LB. Groomie says never to bring up this incident to the family and not to say anything to LB , if he does then he won't talk to BUb ever.

In the 2nd missing scene, Eunju comes and says to her parents that she is not a great actress like her mom and then she said to them they both are good actors and can act happily on the outside but that's not her. RM says to stop it, but then dad says no let her say whatever she wants and he asks her to say what she wants to say. Basically she keeps saying the same thing , and then RM takes her to the room.

I liked the scene (two episodes ago) when TG was telling Jisu about a time in high school that she followed her teacher home on the bus. The theme music was Lulu singing 'To Sir, with love.' (Love the choice of familiar Western songs that pop up in these shows) She see's the Professor scooping up little Jisu, happily greeting his wife, and walking away towards home. Little Jisu sees TG and sweetly waves while TG waves back. TG admits that she cried all the way home, but is happy that her secret crush is living a good and happy life. It's incredible how all three of these characters think the same while so many others on the show are so careless in their thoughts and action regarding anyone else. They were meant to be a family.

As for Bubs; he needs to be chained up in the backyard like that poor little dog on PIH. What a pathetic loser. He, RM, and the Professor's son and dil should all be forced to live together. They can sit around snarling at each other and fighting over every minute detail of their daily lives and morsal food that comes their way.
