Bouncy Knowles... WELCOME. So glad you joined us!!

I love that Groomie Guy. He is one of the best looking guys I've ever seen. I also think the Prof is a great looking guy.

I am SOOOOO glad Schil didn't end up with Ilhan. I ended up not being a big fan of Ilhan's.. He was 'ok' but Hanam Yeon was the better match for Schil.

I am trying to like Eunha. I just don't know if I can. She just seemed too creepy to me in the beginning. Also, the poor treatment that Groomie is already receiving at the hands of his wife and MIL.... Would I wish that on LB? Heck no!!!

Oh, and I would have loved Uggie and Gukwa together. I didn't think him and Snowcone were ever a good match. But G really did belong with Iceman and, in the end, and I was rooting for them.

class p Episode 31 (Thursday) - Deleted Scenes class ul class li Prof tells Jiung not to move in; that he won't marry Tango Girl; walks out. Jiung & Miae say they are moving in anyway. class li Eunha puts pic of her w/LB on LB's phone. He doesn't like it but somehow it is a promise (?) he has with her. class li Kim family, TG hasn't yet come home from blind date; Grams looking forward to BD as SIL. Eunju still a "no-show" for father's B/Day. class li Eunju and her boss at gate of movie star; failure; boss leaves. Eunju is thinking of going to her in-laws but gets call from her girlfriend. class li Meets friend at bar; they decide to go skiiing on the weekend; doesn't care about discussing with Groomie. class li Eunju comes home late and drunk; RM upset with her; Groomie already home. Mom makes her eat garlic (?) to hide the smell of alcohol from Groomie. class li Eunju goes upstairs; Groomie not angry since he thinks she was handling emergency at work. class li RM sneakes outside their bedroom door to hear if they are arguing; Eunju comes out; Mom shushes her; Eunha comes out, too...Mom rushes her back into her room. class li Bubs, M-Grams and Grams at table after dinner. Phone rings; Bubs answers. BD's sister tells Grams TG said she already has a BF and hangs up on Grams. Grams furious at TG. TG comes home, Grams throws food on her in fury and storms into the bedroom, leaving TG standing there with Bubs and M-Grams. LB is studying in the restaurant... class ul In comes Jisu, tiptoeing to surprise him, bringing him a bag of the rolls (cakes?) we later see him eating. Both get big smiles on their faces. He takes out a bun and begins eating. She opens a carton of milk she brought for him. They tease each other and laugh.

Jisu gets serious. I think she tells him about her father. They talk about love. LB gets nervous. Maybe she asks him if he's ever loved someone.? He looks awkward at what she has asked, but gives her some sort of answer. She is sad and worried about something. LB says "sorry," she pats him on the arm; they both stand up; they leave. He walks her home; they talk; she's in a happier mood. She teases him more, he protests. Something she says upsets LB and he stops walking. They continue walking, but he is now in a down, serious mood. She apologizes. They arrive at her door, he says a quick good-bye and leaves. She calls after him but he doesn't stop or respond. Jisu sighs, realizing he's hurt or upset. class center *****
While Bridey is showering, Groomie is working in their bedroom... class ul A text message comes in on Eunju's phone; he realizes she's in the shower. He picks it up and sees the girlfriend's message... no doubt about going skiing on the weekend. Groomie is silently furious.

Just then Bridey comes in, toweling her hair. He confronts her, probably accusing her of lying about the work emergency and spending the whole night out with her friend instead of coming to father's birthday. She denies it, then suddenly is offended that he has read her text message. She grabs the phone from his hands and yells at him.

Groomie is in a controlled burn. He is very calm and deliberate in what he says; he asks her questions. Eunju starts arguing back. Groomie sighs and turns away from her. This is all too much and hopeless. Eunju starts whining in frustration and asserting her personal rights, it seems. Groomie says 'fine,' walks over to the closet, gets down his suitcase and starts packing. Eunju is on the verge of tears, but bites her lip and turns away from him. class center *****
class ul class li RM brings barley water to Jaedu, who has come home late from drinking with students. She tells him he's too old to drink; not good for his health. "Can't I even drink now," he asks. He tells her to take good care of him even though she hates him. class li When RM leaves the study, she sees Groomie leaving. She wants him to stay; he leaves. RM laments to herself that it won't look good for her husband's career. class li RM confronts Bridey in her room, telling her to get her act together; call Groomie and get him back; this is part of marriage. Mom says she's had a happy life. Bridey tells mom that she may be happy but that's not what the rest of the family thinks. From B's point of view, their family was never happy, nor is Mom really happy; Bridey refuses to live her life like her mother—just pretending to be happy. Mom decides it is best for the newlyweds to spend some time apart. class li Mom goes to her room; is frustrated. Eunju in her room, looks at her wedding photograph on the wall. Groomie walks into a rented room, puts down his suitcase; sits on the bed alone in thought. class li LB back in the restaurant studying, takes out the bun that Jisu brought him; hears her words: If you keep it to yourself, you will lose the chance to love that person. LB thinks: Jisu, will I ever have the chance to love you? class li Jisu preparing for bed remembers LB saying, I like someone else, not Eunha. Is it someone he met in the army? She muses on how she used to know what he was thinking by the look in his eyes; now she doesn't and feels distance between them. Is this growing up? she asks. class li At the Kims, Grams is in bed "dying" (with headband), while M-Grams, Jaesik and M-Ja stand by. TG is at her desk. The usual Grams garbage. class li M-Ja and Taesik in their room fear that Grams will win. They both talk about not being happy about Groomie marrying Eunju; hope LB will marry a nice girl. class li Grams and M-Grams sleeping. M-Grams awakens hearing crying. It is TangoGirl. Grams wakes up, too, and rips the covers off TG, exposing her burying her head in her pillow, crying heartbroken tears...Note: As you can see, there are only two deleted scenes but they both were quite lengthy. I think we missed two very important conversations. Any one on the East Coast see these scenes and might help us out? Thx.

Hi bouncy knowles. Welcome to CJKDramas.com! class blockquote bouncy knowles wrote:

Eunha doesn't want to see LB with Jisu, either, so you're definitely not alone! emoticon Don't worry... there are many others here who have the same view as you... they probably just aren't posting their opinions.

I prefer LB with Jisu for two reasons. First, he loves Jisu, not Eunha (and Jisu loves him back, though she isn't too clear on that, yet). Second, my objection to Eunha isn't that she's ditzy, but that she's like a spider that he can't flick off. She just keeps steadily attaching her web to him, getting deeper and deeper into his life without him inviting her to—in fact, over his objections (unenforced as they are). It doesn't matter to me what her reasons are, I just find it awfully annoying to watch someone like her impose herself on someone else until they are so ensnared that they can't free themselves without major injury to themselves or to the spider/web.

Pali, I agree 100% with you about Rich Mom. She's not only a really beautiful woman outside but she also has a fire within that just glows. Not so much in this drama (yet), but in others and in person when I've seen her on Korean TV game/talk shows. I also think Tango Girl has a very beautiful face. I also think LB's mother is beautiful. I can totally pass on Miae (Prof's DIL), Eunha, and Grams. And it isn't because of the characters they play here. They just aren't my cup of tea in the looks department. But they certainly are to other people!

Geeze, I can't believe what they left out! At least now I have an idea of why Groomie left. How could they leave that out? I wish I could be the one to edit these shows. As long as I could see them first, and with Eng subs I could do a better job than they're doing (any of us could)..

So, THANK YOU nchristi for filling us in.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)

Ditto, the above post. Thanks, nchristi.

At this point, I'm detesting Grams as much or more as any of the unreasonable mil's that seems to grow like weeds in the gardens of each kdrama series. I'm certain that we'll eventually get a turn around, but last night's ending scene featured appalling human behavior to the nth degree. She hears her daughter crying uncontrollably, knows that she is the cause of it, and compounds matters by violently ripping the covers away, eposing her daughter in a moment of severe heartache, and will no doubt rub more salt into her wounds with another vile tongue-lashing when the series resumes tonight.
My fantasy scene (a bit like the professor's) has M-Grams pulling Grams up by the hair and winding up like Popeye before sending her into orbit with a punch in the nose.

I think I'm too weak for this stuff. It's hard for me to watch people suffer and cry and here I am asorbed by a genre that offers repeated copious servings of both. I manage to pull through knowing that it will eventually work out in the end. But, oh, the humanity! emoticon

P.S. I think we all know that Jisu and LB will eventually wind up together, but Eunhu needs someone too. Maybe she can take over for her sister as she seems to care more for her Groomie than Wifey does. She needs a little work as well, but at least baby sister seems willing to try and get along with people and isn't averse to showing her smile.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)

Hello Family emoticon

Welcome to the family, bouncy knowles. We here are pretty much Kdrama addicts and we love to discuss our dramas, so post often and freely. emoticon

Okay, I've already mentioned my concerns about LB and Eunha, regarding her mother's attitude. Anyone who she sees as beneath their social status is not going to be treated well. This kid is already being treated badly enough by his own extended family. What does he need the aggravation for? emoticon

I remember in the beginning episodes she said that she approved Groomie for her daughter because he was lacking as a partner for her and she expected him to take all of Bridey's crap. (Well not in those words), but that's what it translated to. emoticon

She expects him to be the one who makes all of the sacrifices to keep the marriage intact, while her terrible daughter remains disrespectful and obnoxious in regards to his family. No matter what he does its lose/lose for him. His bride has no intention of making any concessions.

RM's concerned only with her daughters and anyone who marries into that family is sure to be treated like second class citizens. Her own husband has seen the results of this first hand.

Eunha isn't as mean and selfish as her sister, or is she. She manipulates LB to do anything she wants and he goes along with it, because he too, has made a deal with the devil (RM).

I think if this kid is ever crossed she's going to become very, very scary. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she's learned at her mother's knee how to take control of any situation, and use any means to get her way.

Its going to be interesting to see what happens if LB actually decides to let Jisu know how he feels and tries to pursue a relationship with her. I'm afraid we're going to see a very different Eunha then. emoticon I could be wrong, we'll see. emoticon

I like this drama and actually care about the people in it. Some more than others, but you can't have everything. emoticon

Happy watching emoticon

Later emoticon

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)

I was amused by the Prof's daydream about going into MyounJu's blind date and taking her away .

I am really sad that those two are meeting such opposition ,and I think the step mom is undergoing a personality change .

As far as MuYoung and Jisu , I thought I saw that he said " Will I ever get a chance to love you , Jisu "
She doesn't understand that he loves her ,and she isn't there yet herself .

I found the ep last night very confusing , when SangHyeong showed up with his suitcase ,there had been no prelude ???

I think the editing was very poor last evening .

here we go again .

I think, the ending is very predictable. Very few Korean TV soap have surprise endings.

class p Episode 32 (Friday) - Deleted Scenes

TG goes to her office... class ul The girls come in and ask about her. I think Jisu asked her if she went on the blind date. TG doesn't want to talk;Jisu is concerned. class center *****M-Grams has made soup for Grams, they sit at the table eating... class ul Grams has no appetite. M-Grams tries to reason with her. Grams is contrite looking at first, but she won't give up and starts arguing again with M-Grams. M-Gram persists and Grams has to back down a little. She looks deflated, but gets a second wind and becomes stubborn again. M-Grams ends with "Aigoo..." class center *****M-Grams at home alone on phone.... class ul Bubs walks in and overhears M-Grams. When she realizes he is entering, she changes her voice and quickly hangs up. He asks her who it was and she gives him an excuse. Bubs gets excited about something but M-Grams gives him a dirty look and he stops, gets up and is going to his room. She stops him, says a few words. He then goes into his "dying" mother, Grams. class center *****

K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)

You didn't ask but here is a bit of Wife's conversatin with Sonny Boy
in episode 30:

Sonny: Do you think that will work?

wife: It might. They knew each other for a long time, why does she
want to get married now. Don't you think that's strange?

Sonny: Well...

wife: M-Ju (TG) waited for this. Father will be alone when Jisu gets
married. She probably thinks she can do what she wants to.

Sonny: Then she should wait until Jisu gets married.

Wife: Jisu likes M-Ju. M-ju will act as her mother and get on her
good side. It's not hard to get her married. Let's go to
father's place tonight. We should tell him what we think, ok?

Sonny: I hope it goes like you planned.

Actually, I think it's the wife who's the real problem here. Looks like she's the boss and he does what she says. I think he's a wimp.

At the office TG tells Jisu about her mother making her go on a blind date, but not to worry. Jisu is concerned. Too bad TG didn't tell Prof.

About the scene where Prof goes to pick TG up to go to dance class, but instead sees her coming out with her mother and then on the blind date -
It's pretty plain he knows nothing about the blind date, but sees himself going in and taking her away from blind date(daydream), he laughs a bit, drives off...I think he gives up already here. I'm surprised, without a fight?

Prof goes home and cooks stew and when Jisu asks why he isn't at dance class, he responds he's too tired. He lies to her because he wasn't too tired when he drove over to pick her up to go to dance class.

Maybe Prof thinks she wanted to go on the blind date. Jisu knows the truth.

I don't think we on the East Coast saw LB with Jisu in the restaurant with that discussion. I guess we get all the good LB/Jisu scenes cut out and get to see Grams instead.

Nchristi, we didn't see Episode 31 yet, that will be on Mon. But saw a part of it on coming attractions:

Groomie: (looking at her cell phone) Did you meet Dayeong today?
           (on father's birthday)
It wasn't because of work? Let's not waste anymore
           time.

Bridie: Is this all you cared for me?

Groomie: Let's move out.

Bridie: That's asking too much of me.

Groomie: That's the best I can do.

Maybe we will see more of that scene Monday.

also coming attractions for 31:
Wife: We're moving into father's place.
TG: I feel much better.
Wife: What do you mean?
TG: It means you got what you want.
me: Huh?

TG & Prof.
TG: I told my mom I wouldn't get married.
Prof. I told Jiung (sonny) I wouldn't get married.

Gee, what's wrong with them? I thought they were fighters.

also:

LB to Jisu: Are you burdened that I might be more than a friend?

Way to go LB!

Can anyone tell me if MGrams was in MSMD and if so, what role did she play? I know her from somewhere but don't know where. I love her character, so calm and wise.
A restaurant owner! Wow! Grams will really be jealous if she knew this right now. ha ha.
MGrams should put her to work there, Grams has too much time on her hands, all she does is meddle.
