Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
class p Episode 27 (Friday) - Deleted Scenes
M-Grams and Grams at the sauna.... class ul M-Grams is sleeping peacefully by herself about 15 feet from Grams. Grams doesn't like being ignored, I guess, so she gets up, goes over and lies beside M-Grams, who is on her side. Grams places herself back-to-back with M-Grams, then suddenly kicks M-Grams in the feet quite hard. M-Grams opens her eyes and realizes Grams is doing this on purpose to disturb her, so she merely scooches away a few inches without looking at Grams or saying a word.
Grams starts moaning, then forcefully throws her butt against M-Grams' butt. Still, M-Grams does not acknowledge Grams, she only throws her arm behind her and swats at Grams, like "Get away from me." At this, Grams gets huffy, takes her pillow and moves away. She lies down on a different mat. Then she sits up and starts hitting her chest, like she has indigestion.
M-Grams sits up and asks her what's wrong. "Aigoo," say Grams in a self-pitying manner. M-Grams puts on her glasses and crawls over to Grams. Grams puts on the show even stronger so M-Grams grabs her hand and starts massaging Gram's hand. Grams acts as though it is so painful she can hardly take it, forcefully throwing M-Gram's hands away from massaging her.
M-Grams, ever patient, starts rubbing Grams' back, but Grams struggles as though she's being touched by a leper, at which point M-Grams gives her a couple of really hard whacks on the back! M-Grams calls her bluff, then resumes gently rubbing Grams' back and they talk. As they talk, Grams is still beating her chest. She must be hungry because they eat in a later scene, then Grams gets her industrial strength constipation problems. class center *****Back at the Kims, Taesik and M-ja are talking in their room... class ul M-ja seems simply tired out by the whole situation. She is very depressed looking; Taesik listens and tries to comfort her. M-ja begins crying, Taesik scoots over and holds her hand. She continues feeling down, Taesik speaks kindly and warmly to her and she smiles a little... class center *****Over at the Rich House... class ul RM serves breakfast, but Eunju doesn't come down to the table. Father asks about her. Mother makes an excuse. Groomie looks down in embarrassment and eats. Eunha throws in her opinion.
Groomie takes a small tray upstairs to Bridey, who is still sleeping. He tells he has brought her the food but she doesn't want to be bothered and pulls the blanket over her head. Groomie looks away... his patience wearing thinner by the nano-second.
Groomie returns the tray to the kitchen as RM is closing up the garbage pail and about to take it outside herself. Groomie asks her what she's doing, takes the pail and he will take it outside. RM is reluctant to give it to him but he insists. As Groomie takes it outside, the lid falls off. He bends down to pick it up and put it back on the pail when he sees that it is all the holiday food his family prepared as a gift. He comes back in the house as RM is exiting the kitchen. He stops and asks her about the food. She gives him her "we don't like fried food" answer. He goes upstairs, looks at his bride still in bed, puts his hands in his pockets... Was this the final straw? class center *****

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
Good Morning Family
It looks like a long haul for TG and he professor. Gram is over the top here. All that breast-beating and drama and we have to wait a long time to see those two together. I have no doubt that they will eventually be together, but first the drama.
Bridey couldn't be a worse wife, if she tried. What a mean, selfish girl she is. The more I see her the uglier she gets. This guy should run for his life, before she castrates him. With her mother's help, by the way. She seems to have some practice in how to do that.
Her father has the right idea about the proper thing, but he's already left his manhood at the door. He mostly has no idea what's going on here. He's only privy to what his wife wants him to know.
How dare she throw away the food prepared by his family. Wouldn't you think he'd wonder where it went, when he never sees it appear on the table?? What a witch!!
Once again, I'm going to repeat the obvious, these two should have discussed their expectations of each other pre-nuptials. Neither of them is getting what they want from the other.
Bridey wanted a room-mate and to keep the status quo. Live at home as before, with the benefit of a live-in lover. Like an extended sleepover with perks. No responsiblity, no changes, just the two of them in her old room and his family be damned.
This poor guy bit off much more than he could chew and if the spoiled wife isn't enough he has to contend with the loony mother in law too. He'd better get used to the idea that this disrespectful, self absorbed brat is never going to be a proper daughter in law for him to bring home to his family. She has no such inclination.
You gotta feel for the guy.

K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
hey folks, its been a while since PIH. Glad to see most of you are here. As usual, I am ahead of NY and SCA by a few eps which makes me mad because this discussion can only be retroactive for me and I cannot comment of what I see every night... grrrr!! In any case the person I am most angry with is Jeudu or whatever you call h im. I understand that it is the women's job in Korea to raise the kids but he really chose to totally abdicate his rights to steer his wife in the right direction when she was raising his daughters. Why even have a family then? Not only he let her do what she wanted with him (I still dont know what the deal is or has been between them - after all she is the rich one, did she get him as she would get a toy, and then got tired of him? And he was such a coward that let pay for his study and so he is indebted to her forever? Not clear at this point) but now he is almost like " I told you, it is your fault". What kind of bitter satisfaction is that, to see your wilfe raise your girls wrong and complain about it when things unravel but not before?

K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I've been reading the post for awhile now. And thought I'd join in. I started with PIH. Jjust by flicking channels . I became so addicted I could not miss it. I started watching Heaven and Earth from day one. And I'm getting into it. I hate Bridey she needs a little boot. Her Mom is a lost soul. I feel sorry for her.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
One of the things I'm enjoying most is that Tango Girl and Prof are really a "power couple" in their own right. Most couples in these dramas get all weak and submissive—at least one of them gives up for the sake of family harmony. It's refreshing to see both of them strongly committed to making it happen—at least so far.
Prof understands what he's facing with his ridiculous future MIL (Who else would play the "I'm dying" card over a case of constipation? Frankly, she could use a few more enemas...) Prof is so wonderfully confident and strong in his own composed, low-key way. If Grams doesn't get that yet, she soon will. Of course, she is such a silly woman that once she starts looking at him more, she'll probably want TG to marry such a handsome, dignified gentleman who doesn't "look old enough to have a grandchild."
As for TG, loved the way she handled Sonny Boy and his twerpy little wife. Jiung knows what's what now and I guess he won't be trying out his infantile reasoning on TG again anytime soon. It was the perfect put down to the wife, too—by osmosis! She was so confident that they would have TG quaking in her boots because of their relation to Prof, only to see her husband humiliated like a little boy. (He does look awfully young...)
One comment about Groomie... My heart goes out to him in many ways, but I noticed last night in the scene with LB that poor Groomie just can't seem to have a conversation with anyone "below" him without it turning into a nagging lecture. It would be so nice to see him—at least once—just sit down and have a pleasant moment with LB. He started off okay last night but, as usual, had to end it with telling LB a negative about what not to do, and how to live his life. At least Groomie seemed to realize that he himself has created the big divide between them, otherwise LB wouldn't have the knee-jerk reaction that's always triggered. Groomie... put a cork in it! You'll get much further with honey than vinegar!
I think my favorite character so far is actually M-Grams. I love how calm, cool, and collected she is. I also think she is a naturally very handsome woman—none of the paint and color of a Grams (which is okay, I just prefer natural beauty and the look of older women who age gracefully). I love M-Grams' face, her lips and the way she speaks. I hope I have such dignity when I'm her age.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
class p Episode 28 (Monday) - Deleted Scenes
After Prof asking to hold TG's hand in car, TG enters her apartment... class ul TG arrives home. Bubs comes out and starts yelling at her. In the bedroom, Grams has been sitting up and talking with the sewing M-Grams, but when she hears Bubs yelling at TG, Grams quickly gets back in the bed in her "dying" mode. Bubs keeps yelling at TG at how she's killing her mother and finally TG runs into the bedroom. M-Ja looks at Bubs and laughs. Bubs is confounded, as usual.
In the bedroom, Grams pretends to be practically unconcious. M-Grams leaves and goes to the table, where M-ja is sitting. M-Ja tries to take the basket of mending away from M-Grams, but M-Grams declines and wants to do the sewing herself. They have a few touching words together. M-Grams stops her task, looks at her daughter and smiles. M-ja is slightly more receptive than usual.
Back in the bedroom, Grams has roused herself and begun yelling and carrying on to TG. TG cries, but tells the truth about how she feels about marrying Prof. "What?!" is Grams response and she faints down into the bed, beating her chest, as though she's near death. [Not quite near enough... ] She turns her back to TG, for the greatest guilt inducer. (This is what spurs Grams to want to meet secretly with Prof. Next scene is Jisu telling Prof Grams wants his phone number....) class center *****After Groomie comes home from meeting with LB and argues with Bridey... class ul Jaedu is getting dressed to leave, RM brings him something in the study. Looks as though RM is telling him there is some trouble with Groomie. Jaedu seems to give her his usual advice to stay out of things. He leaves for work. class center *****Comment: In watching the VOD, I had forgotten that when Grams and Bubs met with Prof, her outfit was perfectly color coordinated with the restaurant table cloth! That cool green. Very pretty, indeed... just kinda funny.

I noticed the green and green, too. A nice scene. It was like they plants in a garden.
I was real proud of TG last night. She had the right response to everything. Three weak negative points and the punctuation that she made on his face! What a woman!!!
