Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
class p Episode 24 (Tuesday) - Deleted Scenes
Bridey doesn't want Groomie to go to the bath with the men... class ul Groomie goes into front room and tells the other men he isn't going with them. Grams tsk-tsk-tsks him for giving in to his wife. M-Ja comes out of the kitchen and wonders why Groomie is staying home. Grams, tsks-tsks more and M-ja doesn't look too happy either... class center *****M-Grams working in the kitchen at the senior center (or temple?)... class ul Other younger women in the kitchen respectfully give her tastes of dishes as they prepare them, then the supervisor approaches her and says something kind and encouraging to her. M-Grams goes into a room where three very elderly, lonely women are sitting. She sits down and talks to one of them, holding her hands. Unexpectedly it seems, the woman speaks, surprising M-Grams, who says "yes," gets up and quickly leaves (to get someone or something for the elder?). class center *****Prof at home, his son and grandbaby visiting... class ul Prof is holding the baby, rocking her on his lap and talking to her sweetly. He stands up, putting the baby's feet on the floor, encouraging her to stand and take steps. Looks as though the son is encouraging his father to be involved with his grandchild(ren)—no doubt as opposed to giving his attentions to a new wife!
In the kitchen Jisu is with her sister-in-law preparing their meal. The drift I get is that the son and daughter-in-law are there to put a stop to the idea of Prof getting married. Daugher-in-law is arguing with Jisu, while Jisu is laughing it off with a positive spin. She looks as though she's saying they all should be happy for father if he remarries.
In the bedroom, the son and his wife are changing the baby's diapers. The son must be talking about his love of money because his wife gets on his case. Maybe she's not so dead-set against Prof marrying after all. ? class center *****Previews
The previews also showed Bridey & Groomie leaving the disastrous family memorial service at the Kims. He takes her to the riverside, tells her they are not compatible, and should divorce before it's too late. She tells him he shouldn't bring up something so serious. The preview shows him walking away, leaving her standing alone.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
After a month of watching this series I can finally say that I'm into it kind of. It took me this long to care enough about the characters to have something to say. At first it was way too deep after PIH but now it's getting better.
The good in this drama....Groomie. I really liked him from the beginning even though he didn't speak up when RM told him to do stuff. What impressed me about him is that he was so willing to help out in the kitchen with his family(not to mention the eye candy). Maybe because it's so rare in the asian culture for the men in the family to lift a finger. (King of castle and all). Maybe I was endeared to him even more because he didn't complain when RM told him to do stuff. It's just in his nature to help out.
More good....LB, he seems to have good heart, he's just trying to figure out where he belongs.
The bad.....Bridey with a big B. She makes me grind my teeth everytime something comes out of her mouth. She had her nerve to complain about going over to the in-laws and then leave because they didn't have a bidet. What does she do when she uses a public restroom? I have no simpathy for her she's a snob and like OCgrams said she's not even willing to try to learn.
More bad.....OCgrams, ok maybe she does nag Bridey a little too especially when Bubs wanted the water. I mean give Bridey a break, LB was getting it anyway. She didn't get any points with me when MG came into the family either. She could've been a lot more receptive of MG.
Really bad idea....the marriage of Groomie & Bridey, they don't match and should never have gotten married. It would be interesting to see how they met and developed feelings for each other, other than that, split up already. I see no chemistry between the two characters or actors.
MGgrams is neutral with me leaning towards bad. At first and she still seems a little bit of a moocher when the family while not dirt poor isn't rich either. On the other hand I do believe that she's there to get to know her children probably because she's ill.
Just venting...I think I've been hold in too much.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
Tonight was an interesting episode ,I am getting more and more into this drama .
I was surprised that MyuongJu's mom disapproves of the match with the Professor ,It never entered my mind that any one would object on those grounds !!
I don't believe that Myeuntae is really going to the States ,Does he ever hear from his family ? How is it that they went there without him ??
I don't blame Groomie for wanting to throw in the towel and cut his losses . I was surprised that Eunju was surprised - she is the one who left in the middle of her own honeymoon .
I'm sorry ,but the bidet thing took away any sympathy I may have had for her .
She has not shown the slightest bit of accomodation to her inlaws .
I am not saying that SangHyung shouldn't change at all ,but Eunju is not willing to bend at all .
As far as EunHa and LB go ,I think that EunAH is such a clinging vine that she will feel suffocating to him very soon .I think that JiSu was regretful as they went to the movies .

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
A big round of applause to Groomie on tonite's episode!! As selfish as Eunju is, she's acting like what she did the previous nite was nothing. She has no respect to her in-laws at all.
LB - I think he is being way too nice to Eunju - at the expense of his own happiness. After talking to RM, he seems to have erased the word "NO" from his vocabulary. Ji-su is now feeling curious and anxious about LB and Eunju. I still like seeing Ji-su and LB get together. It is obvvious LB likes Ji-su but he shines her off when they are together - make her feel like she is less important to him.
I wonder if it is a sin or shame to family when a single female marries somebody who once had a wife.

Bridey has a lot of prejudices to overcome...not impossible but the road will be ugly. Even if she does receive the KDR, I still will have a hard time seeing Groomie and her together...the chemistry just isn't there.
Taesik is just a top-notch gem...I imagine the deceased Father was just like him...thoughtful, non-judgemental, caring, supportive, etc.
Gmom surely dropped a bombshell with her declaration that she didn't want her daughter to be a second wife like herself. that comment alone is going to change the family dynamics in a hurry.

This is a very superficial question (don't be mad, anybody) - just curious.
I have noticed that Jisu's upper lip looks like it is chapped all the time - remember Jongnam from BB? She frequently had that same look on her upper lip as well? I know it is not lipstick/gloss smear. It's just that once I noticed it my eyes keep going back to it again and again.
I love looking at Prof. pops but if she is in the same scene I am back to her lip! (Sorry I know it is so dorky! )

I know it is not lipstick/gloss smear. It's just that once I noticed it my eyes keep going back to it again and again. Don't worry, jessikat, everybody is superficial at times. I felt the same way about the lead actress in Vineyard. I guess it was the shape of her upper lip, but whatever it was cast a small shadow and all I could see was a mustache! It was so distracting to me that I didn't like looking at her.
I haven't noticed what you mention about Jisu's upper lip because I am so happy to see her upper teeth all the time! So many K-actors seem to get their upper teeth veneered but leave the bottom ones all snaggly. Unfortunately, when they talk, all we see is their bottom teeth. The upper veneers are great for posed smiles, but disappear when they speak.
Back to the story.... I think the problem with both RichMom and Bridey is that neither of them has ever lived in a "real world." Both were raised in very rich families and were protected from dealing with situations, or people, or obligations that they didn't like. They were always made comfortable so they expect that is their right and no one should try to force them to do otherwise. As Jaedu said, RichMom handles all obligations, including familial ties, by throwing money at everybody—never "dirtying" her own hands with personal involvement.
Which reminds me... I cannot get the bedroom scene out of my mind when Jaedu genuinely wanted to comfort his wife when she was crying and all she did was cringe away from him repeatedly. No matter what has happened between them in their past, RM needs some serious, industrial strength psychotherapy. What husband (or wife) could take that sort of horrible rejection. Once would be a major incident, but I'm sure it has happened numerous times. The thing that really gets me is when RM talks about it, it seems she really believes they have a good marriage and that her husband is unexpectedly cold (?) towards her.
LB is a sweetie, all right. He covered for everybody when Bridey left and returned the next morning—wanting to help his older brother save face with the family, too, on having such his wife behave so shamefully. One good word for Eunha... I was surprised she asked Jisu to join them at the theater. The way things have been going, I expected her to make sure Jisu didn't get anywhere near LB that night.
Prof & TG... I was afraid there would be an issue with Grams. This could actually be one of our major conflicts in the drama. Both will want to enter their marriage without trouble in their families over it and we have problems on both sides... Grams and Jiung (Prof's son). I guess it all will depend on how mean and nasty each side gets before they give their approval.
The age difference between Prof and TG isn't anything much to us, but it is there, at least traditionally it would be. Then, as mentioned by others, there is the "first marriage" issue. It is proper in the culture for second-marriage people to marry only other previously married people. First marriages are to be "first" for both partners. I'm sure "fate" and one's destiny have a lot to do with this idea, especially from the aspect of having children. I should look it up... it's kind of curious to me.
I'm glad to see TG stick to her guns, though. Her mother may object to her marrying an "old man," but she'd object more if her daughter remains an old maid who never marries.

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
class p Episode 25 (Wednesday) - Deleted Scenes
Back at Prof's with his son & family.... class ul Jiung starts in on criticizing his dad's marriage plans. Prof speaks up briefly, but Jiung keeps on. Jisu jumps in, defending her father. Then the daughter-in-law starts arguing with Jisu about it. Suddenly, Prof tells Jisu to stop. He calmly says something to his son, gets up and leaves the room. Prof is upset—more hurt and concerned, not angry. He sits down at his computer and is clearly worried about the situation... maybe losing his confidence. Back in the front room, the son is upset. All of them seem upset at Prof's reaction. Jisu is disgusted with her brother and walks out, too. class center *****At the Kim's, Tango Girl has walked out after her mother's attack... class ul Bubs, Grams, M-Ja and Taesik try to reason with Grams, but she yells and fights loudly with each of them. Grams appeals to M-Ja to side with her, taking her hands and pleading. M-Ja tries to reason with Grams, but she just hits M-Ja in the chest, yells some more and runs off to her room. Taesik, Bubs and M-Ja discuss the matter further. class center *****Rich Parents dropping Eunha off at the movie theater to meet LB... class ul RM is overly worried. Dad thinks it's no big deal... let Eunha have some freedom. (Later they go home and have their little conversation about "perfect" parenting.) class center *****
