Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
Hello All,
Looking forward to the new series....... at least we have Thurs and Fri to see the set-up scenes and introduce the characters. Having the 2 days hopefully will help us to remember everything on Monday.
Sorry, but count me out for daily recaps...... don't have the time nor do I read them. Also, I gave up taping missing episodes for Lent. LOL - of course, now it's hard to commit to go out, but it hasn't been so bad missing eps.
Thanks, again, for the great intro(s) whenever a new drama starts!
========================
Well, this is going to be interesting....... fireworks on the Honeymoon.... and it ain't the sex. LOL!

Well, it looks promising, anyway. So many wonderfully familiar faces! CanGetEnough LOL! Did this couple talk to each other at all before this wedding?? And what a strange couple of parents! At first, I thought she was his housekeeper! LOL

K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven And Earth)
Well, I hope it is better than PIH which bordered on the ridiculous. I do like the actor who played Captain Kang.

I didn't even recognize Junho's mother from 'Let's Meet by the River' until I saw her picture here. Wow, pali, it must really be a drag to sit through 167 epoisdes of a show you didn't even like. How much are they paying you for this job?

Re: K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven and Earth/High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth)
Well, here goes. I don't have names and can't really tell some of the young actors and actresses apart yet, but I'll do my best until we all kind of settle into the groove on names, etc.
Episode 1 (Thurs) - Deleted Scenes class ul
After leaving the wedding and taking the bus, Muyoung (guy in baseball cap) is sitting alone on a bench by a huge, flat park. He starts to make a call on his cellphone, then another phone in his pocket rings. He pulls it out, looks at the screen for a long time, but doesn't answer.
Cut to the girl who chased after him (I think it was her? I guess she's the daughter of the single man (who played Mr. Moon in Seoul 1945). She seems to be at home, laughing with a young man, maybe a relative or family friend? While they're joking around, his phone rings, he answers, but there is no one there, so he hangs up. The screen now shows Muyoung still sitting in the park, but having a conversation on the phone. He tries to be jovial and I believe he keeps calling the person he's talking to "hyung," which means "older brother." My guess is that he dialed the number of the guy above, then hung up, but kept on talking to him as though the person were still on the line. It was a sad scene.
After the family discovers the $10K check among the gifts, the next scene is of the poorly dressed grandmother who left the anonymous check at the wedding desk. She is sitting in a tiny street vendor stall on a market street, having something to eat. The woman vendor is very friendly towards her, either giving Grams some extra food, or simply mixing it all up for her. In any case, the vendor lady is giving this grandmother special attention and being very kind.
The honeymoon couple. At the registration desk at the hotel, the groom's first taste of disappointment is being excited about calling their parents to tell them they have arrived, etc. The bride isn't interested and doesn't want to be bothered. The groom is surprised but doesn't yet get how serious this is going to become. He gives her the phone and tells her to call home. We see that it is her parents that he is asking her to call and she doesn't want to. The lonely rich mom who drinks alone answers the phone, the daughter pretends to be friendly and all is cool.
Up in their hotel suite, the groom now wants to call his parents. She isn't going to, gets up and walks into another room. The groom is stunned and just can't imagine what's up with his bride. He sadly calls home, his family is happy to hear from him. When they ask for the bride, he makes an excuse that she isn't available at the moment. [Will we see a divorce soon?]
The last deleted scene is of the same girl (I hope) who chased after Muyoung. She's at her desk, looking at a childhood picture. There are three kids in it, grade school age. Must be her, Muyoung, and whoever the other girl is who likes him, too (since the synopsis says he's involved in a triangle). If anyone finds a source for this drama with English subs, please let me know.

K-Drama: 하늘만큼 땅만큼 (As Much As Heaven And Earth)
robbo4....I did not sit through all 167 episodes, but I watched periodically and in fast forward most of the time. The show was too formulaic, and ended much as I had expected it to.
