K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You) (AZN TV Channel)

In real life you don't recover from dementia (especially early genetic Alzhiemers) -- but in a K-drama writer's imagination who knows? -- it might be different (maybe all she needs is Kinoki footpads!!)

What a terrible situation the Dr. Chang is in. He needs support and can't get it from where he should -- so he will be drawn to a source of support (Bong-Soon) like a flower turns to the sun. He has crossed the line from friendship to something more.

I begin to doubt that Bong-Soon is the President's daughter -- only here goofy mother knows for sure!

I just want to point how she came to have her condition. If you watched one of the episodes closely (when the paper from the Mayo Clinic came and one of the doctors showed it to Dr. Chang the husband, asking who it was for), it shows that the cause of the condition was due to herpes. Now luckily, I just took a microbiology class this past semester. I never knew herpes could get into the brain until my teacher showed us a picture of a herpes plaque found in brain tissue. Herpes, as most of us know, is the gift that keeps on giving. Apparrently the virus responsible for herpes managed to cross the blood-brain barrier, where it does its major damage to the body. class blockquote What Ji-soo has is post-encephalitic dementia. If you look at the paper closely, you can actually read the "Hospital Course & Treatment..."...the last line says "there are no specific curable treatments of this dementia induced cortical lesion"
If you want the full thinig:
This female patient, 28 years old, has diagnosed above disorder, post-encephalitic dementia. She experienced symptoms and signs that suspected herpes encephalitis about two months ago. She had severe memory dysfunction and psychological symptoms such like ____, agitation?. Behavioral disturbances such as irritability, childish behavior was also expressed.
She tested brain MRI, EEG and brain PCT scan.
Cortical atrophy on both temporal lobes was checked in brain MRI.
Cerebral dysfunction was shown on EEG.
The course of this illness is very poor and progressive.
There are no specific curable treatments of this dementia induced cortical lesion.
The part of Ji-soo's brain that is affected by the herpes encephalitis is the temporal lobes. Info on the temporal lobes, taken from wikipedia: class blockquote The temporal lobe is involved in auditory processing and is home to the primary auditory cortex. It is also heavily involved in semantics both in speech and vision. The temporal lobe contains the hippocampus and is therefore involved in memory formation as well.

In the episode before last night, it does seem like there is some foreshadowing that BS is not really the president's daughter. The foreshadowing was vague but my interpretation of the hints was that maybe the President was just visiting and the picture was taken?

We also get to see the mother in tuesday night's episode and my impression of her was not a good one. She seemed to me a bit of a selfish and lackluster mother ... perhaps the reason why BS's grandmother kept the truth of her parentage from her?

In any case the grandmother sure left a lot undone and a lot left for BS to learn.

Just barging in to see how you are all liking this series. It was great for me and got better as time went on. Lee Minki seemed to get better all of the time and seeing Eugene in any capacity kept me tuning in (though I think I liked her the best in the beginning when she was still just a country girl.) The sad case with the Dr.'s pretty young wife had me on the edge of tears most of the time and I felt a great sense of relief when I later saw the actress in full control of her mental capacities in Vineyard Man.

It's amazing how much you can end up living the emotional struggles along with these figures of fantasy. emoticon

I'm sneaking in, too! I saw that last night's episode ended with him and BS on the street outside the house. It was so heartbreaking for everyone involved. emoticon

I'm playing catch up and just finished friday's episode.

The big event finally materialized, BS met the president and now we know what transpired in the past and that he isn't related to her at all (like we speculated a few posts ago).

I'm really enjoying this series, it's a lot of fun to watch and has a lot of different elements from the comedy to the drama to the story to keep me entertained.

Now that the major part of the story has been uncovered, I'm especially curious to see where this series will go with how many episodes there are still to go.

SuperRookie, there's still lots of questions still to be answered, and of course reunions and resolutions, isn't there?

I've been racking my brain on this, but do any of you remember the doctor who works with Jang?

He was in an earlier episode and again on Tuesday night's episode where he kicks Jang on the legs. He did the same in an earlier episode.

I know I've seen him somewhere before in another K-Drama but I can't quite remember. It's killing me when I'm trying to remember something and when it's somewhat out of reach from my memory. LOL

If anyone can provide any information like a character name or the actor name or any other information, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
