K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You)

Hm, didn't love the episode, but how adorable was that scene, now that I know what Bong-Ki was really saying there. So, that was ep 28, right, and there are 36 episodes...so 8 more to go? Aaaahhh!

The drama is only 34 epis, so 6 more epis to go.

In the article that talks about "abdi bogo ka"...the writer mentions how the scene in tonight's episode was Bong-gi's best chance at telling her how he feels for her, but he technically screwed up with that rambling mouth of his...but for him to tell her he class reveal Image class spoiler loved her in those foreign phrases and (he said it in 3 different languages...all African languages mind you) her not know (of course she wouldn't understand Nam Bong-gi!). You can say he's improving. And it's so interesting that he hasn't used the class reveal Image class spoiler Korean "I love you" but instead used the class reveal Image class spoiler "I love you" of 3 African languages to tell her (they are class reveal Image class spoiler Swahili, Xhosa, and Sunda. Pretty ingenious of the writer, since this drama is entitled "Really Really Like You"

And really, Bong-gi isn't as passive as you might think...in EP 27 when he thought she was actually talking about the two of them, Bong-gi went to the point of asking why it couldn't be him. Of course once he figured out she wasn't even talking about her and him...

I'll post screencaps of what he said in those languages once there are several more posts to make sure most of the people here have dled and watched that clip...it's a must watch clip I tell you.

A call from Mom, who is in Paris, buying French paintings? Oh, come on!. This scene between the photograhper and Ms. Golddigger is beginning to make me suspect that the "wealth" the photograhper has is all a setup to impress her. Maybe Ms. Golddigger is starting to suspect something too when the last thought she had was" there's more going on. I need to investigate more".

That's a very good point. JS doesn't have the common-sense of her daughter. Where are the child-proof latches? Why aren't potentially dangerous items kept out of harm's way? Supposedly the whole reason that BS and the Dr can't get together is because of his devotion to his wife. Yet when JS was crying because she was just trying to be a wife, Dr just stands there. No hug, no comfort, nothing. How pathetic is that? And earlier when HW and JS are crying because of JS' problems, Dr gives HW a hug and sympathy. Meanwhile JS is just standing there, getting nothing from Dr. And JS is worse off since not only is her mental age (even in this improved state) lower than that of HW, she has the added pain of realizing that something is missing.

Let me see if I have this right (because of chores I don't get to see all of the show):
1) BS thinks BG lost his girlfriend.
2) BS says that the cure for lost love is a new love.
3) BS sets up BG with an incompatible blind date because of principle 2)
4) BG knows all of the above
5) BG knows BS is trying to treat Dr as a brother and not romantically
6) Applying principle 2), BG decides the best approach is to ... tell BS nothing of his feelings.

remember what Bong-gi tells Joon-won in the car? Their conversation started off with Joon-won telling Bong-gi he envies Bong-gi. Bong-gi answers that he envies Dr. Jang. This prompts Joon-won to ask why Bong-gi hasn't revealed his feelings to BS. BG replies "Because I know that her heart isn't with me." Though, BS is trying, it's still evident she's NOT over the Dr. In last night's scene between BS and BG, he waited up for BS to see how she was doing after he learned BS has told JW that she only wants to be his sister. Just by looking at her, he can still tell she's sorting through all sorts of problems and that's why he started rambling off with "Where there's a will, there's a way...If God closes a door, he opens a window..." to cheer her up. Then he accidently repeats the one line BS had told him about the cure for scars from a past love. I don't think he intended to profess his feelings this particular night. But he ended up anyways, by saying "I love you" in the 3 foreign languages--Swahili, Xhosa, and Sunda. Of course BS wouldn't understand what he's saying. But there it is, BG did try, in his own way...but the feeling that he still isn't able to tell her so in Korean...he's improved from telling her he "hates" her like at the end of EP 19.

how to say "I love you" in 100 different languages for Koreans:
http://mir64.egloos.com/1240816

Swahili: ni ni ku pehn da weh weh (니니쿠펜다 웨웨)
Xhosa: eun-di ah ku-tan-da (은디 아 쿠탄다)
Sunda: ahb di bo go ka (압디 보고 카)

credits to n5y17cgirl for romanizing the Korean...so you can see, BG was speaking 3 different languages last night.

Thanks for the clip creidesca. And you know even when I watched it last night and do not know those languages I knew that was what he was telling BS. I agree that it isn't the right time to tell her. She is trying really hard, but she's not ready and you're right, it would only add to her weight and burden of her problems right now if BG told BS how he felt. I actually think he is being really wise. He knows her heart isn't with him yet, so it would almost be a 'fools errand' to tell her now how he feels (in Korean of course).

I hated that boxing scene. But it did make me wonder...why did BS take him there? Obviously she was thinking of BG, since he did the same thing for her, although more successful. So, even though she may not know it yet, she is thinking of him subtly and she has done things like this more than once...ooh he's getting to her, getting under her skin without her knowing. I love it!! *evil laugh*

Poor Ji-Soo. Her husband has become so much more distant since she has actually started getting better. Did you notice when Dr. Chang came home and BS was there cooking the mushrooms and he was staring at her? Ji Soo noticed. Did you notice her looking up at him and then hugging him closer...maybe she senses something? Hmm, I guess we will have to wait and see.

I've redid the clip above to include the romanization of the Korean:

Re: K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You)

I did not like the boxing scene at all. It felt uncomfortable and a little phony.

Actually I have had a hard time feeling any real bond of love between BS and Dr. Chang. they are so ill assorted and not at all a good match. I think he is so pathetic and such a dreadful husband. He is guilty of neglecting his wife as a sick person. Also he is guilty of neglecting her from a moral sense as a loving husband.
Since he is apparently a good doctor with his patients, it seems to me he would be at least as kind and caring with his wife.

As someone has said..there are no safeguards in the house to prevent her from accidentally hurting herself. She was doing rather well ironing his shirt but he panicked and caused the burn on his shirt. Not the way a doctor should react.

Considering the fact that Chang is much older he is behaving like a lovesick teenager and B.Soon is becoming more mature in trying to avoid him and the whole situation. It is inevitable that they will bump into one another but he could avoid her if he had any ethical qualities.

Well.....there you go.

What Ji-soo suffers from is Post Encephalitic Dementia...just go back several pages and you'd see how I went to the point of pausing the screen and typing every single world that was written on the paper Joon-won's co-worker gave him when he asked Joon-won who had dementia (as the patient, Ji-soo, was supposed to head to the Mayo Clinic in the US). Here, let me repost...it's from EP 21 I believe: class blockquote There...what Ji-soo has is post-encephalitic dementia. If you look at the paper closely, you can actually read the "Hospital Course & Treatment..."...the last line says "there are no specific curable treatments of this dementia induced cortical lesion"
If you want the full thinig:
This female patient, 28 years old, has diagnosed above disorder, post-encephalitic dementia. She experienced symptoms and signs that suspected herpes encephalitis about two months ago. She had severe memory dysfunction and psychological symptoms such like ____, agitation?. Behavioral disturbances such as irritability, childish behavior was also expressed.
She tested brain MRI, EEG and brain PCT scan.
Cortical atrophy on both temporal lobes was checked in brain MRI.
Cerebral dysfunction was shown on EEG.
The course of this illness is very poor and progressive.
There are no specific curable treatments of this dementia induced cortical lesion.
As for Bong-gi's passivity...no passivity here. You'd be suprised at what he said in those foreign languages. Since the MBC America subtitles didn't translate them, I went to the trouble of subbing the clip myself with explaining the meaning of the 3 foreign phrases said by Bong-gi. Also, since it took Bong-soon 2 nights after he said those words to ask him about it, the chance of him telling her would be slim...I know if it was me, I'd do the same because I was given 2 days time to think about it. Earlier in tonight's episode, Bong-gi tried to discuss what happened that night with her but was forever interrupted by someone, and it's supposed to be Bong-soon to ask him, not himself! Given 2 days, he had plenty of time to mull over what he would do...and his reply to Joon-won on why he didn't tell his feelings to Bong-soon: "Because I know that her heart isn't with me." Furthermore, this isn't completely the right time to confess his feelings to her in my opinion. She's just said to Joon-won she only wants to be his sister now. Bong-gi knows this thanks to Joon-woon. Though she says this, she's still not completely over her feelings for the Dr. and she still has to deal with her family and career. What's the point of adding another burden to her already heavy load? And I believe Bong-gi doesn't fear being rejected, but rather the results of the rejection--her distancing herself from him, which is something he doesn't want. If it means he can stay by her side longer...Also, I there's the chance if he declares he loves her, whatever happened to his mom could happen to Bong-soon because of his love for her.
Thanks for taking the time to repost. And thank you to everyone for your input, too. It will be awhile before I get to read all the back posts. One scene reminded me that I did watch a few eps early on, but then forgot about it because I'm so use to watching the 9:40 dramas.

Creidesca, the reason 36 episodes keeps coming up is because that is what you have posted in your first message on page 1. emoticon

I was clapping when the Pres. wife chose the chestnut dishes. I was wondering if she was going to pick the third chef's meal to break the tie.
