Not sure whether it has to do with raging hormones, but Bong-gi got up and took hold of the weights right after, in her own little way, Bong-soon "thanked" him for the homestar. There he was, smiling because of her words, and I believe he caught himself smiling, which prompted him to get up. She finally noticed/recognized something he did for her!

Even Bong-soon's mom commented that Bong-gi's dad and Director Lee were like a couple! I thought it was just me...though it seems like Bong-gi's father is both the wife & husband, don't you think? Director Lee can't seem to get his way, ever.
Oh my, don't tell me this is why Bong-gi spends his money away! His dad is sooo stingy, especially with the food.

Imagine Bong-gi's shock when he witnessed Ji-soo's "recovery." He's more worried how Bong-soon will react once she finds out.

I don't know why that, shall we all give her a name? Well, I don't know why she needs to put that much effort in trying to get rid of Bong-soon if Bong-soon's that hopeless. She's blind by her pride, but mostly of all, that jealousy of hers, since she had been humiliated by Bong-soon in an earlier episode with the wheat wraps [1 of the cut scenes I provided].
I can't believe she'd let this blindness of her compromise the reputation of the Presidential Residence kitchen...Korea's reputation is at stake here.

And isn't the Dr. a bit too eager? That's just harmful for his wife to have to meet his high expectations. Her memory might not be intact, but she can still discern disappointment.
Uh, the Dr. reflecting on Bong-gi's words...is he going to tell Bong-soon or not? It seems like he doesn't want to.

I can understand where the other doctor is coming from, even if you take out the point on insurance claims. Joon-won is getting emotionally attached to his patients again. He should have let Joon-won learn a lesson.
And Joon-won has no imagination when it comes to coming up with lies, even white ones.

Now Joon-won made a good point. Did Bong-gi choose to be a bodyguard, a Presidential bodyguard at that, because of the guilt of killing his mom...he doesn't feel he deserves to be living? And by going into this line of profession, he'd at least die with some worth/value? One of the most dangerous places, as he had stated, is by the President.

.Bong-soon attempted to relieve her mom of some of her burdens. She also wanted to be a part of her sisters' lives, even if one of them isn't blood-related. And Bong-soon made a good point too...with regards to her stepsister maybe wanting the mom's attention. I also think that Bong-soon was extremely angry to find out that the person who stole her money was her stepsis, which prompted the shout of a pickpocket in the place. And when she left the police station, I think she was disappointed that she couldn't resolve her family problems on her own.

If Bong-gi hadn't looked at him that way, Joon-won wouldn't have remembered his place--that there was no real special reason why he should go along with Bong-gi to the police station.

Bong-gi following right behind Bong-soon just like in the scene after she learned Joon-won had a daughter.
And Bong-soon, so wrapped up w/ her troubles (Joon-won, her family) that she doesn't even notice Bong-gi's bandaged elbow. She noticed his bandaged hand when he got it burned because of Ji-soo. And did you notice that this second injury is also to his right side? Because of Ji-soo, his right hand was burned, and now because of Joon-won, it's his right elbow. What next?

I think after the events last night (at the police station), Bong-gi isn't confident Bong-soon will be able to handle what will happen in the dining room so soon. And he tried to protect her with his attempts to dissuade her from entering the dining room. But Bong-soon needs to confront it as she had said, or she'll never get over Joon-won. Aja, Bong-soon! Aja!

I swear, Joon-won completely forgets his surroundings, and maybe who he is as well! Not only is his wife and child there, but his parents are there too!

It's just a parody of King & Clown using the leads of RRLY that a fan made.

Oh, I dig...Thanks! For a second there, I thought maybe these three had starred in another drama. I got a chuckle out of Dr Chang's long hair and rosy cheeks! emoticon

Are they ever going to mention why BG is so shallow and is the way he is when in comes to women... about the ex-girlfriend... and about doctors?
oh and what about BS delivering milk cause she wakes up so early....
I read those in the MBC world website oh and something really old,
I was looking back when did BG stated to look at BS differently.... episode 10 right?
Much of the character description written on Bong-gi and Bong-soon at the MBC webpage is incorrect. The character descriptions were prepared well in advance before the airing of the first episode, however, because the actresss Eugene got injured on a snowboard, further filming of the drama was delayed, thus the writer had to rewrite the beginning episodes to accomodate the injury since the drama team did not want to have a change in actress.

As to Bong-gi's "shallowness" or whatever you would like to term what we witnessed of Bong-gi's attitude in the beginning episodes, I feel it stems from the events of his mother's death. Why does he say he killed his mother? And just how long has his mother been gone? We don't have the answers yet, but notice that Bong-gi has been singled out as the only character in the drama who doesn't have a mother (alive & breathing)--Bong-soon has her birth-mother, as well as her grandmother; the Dr has the First Lady; Hyo-won has her mother; Ji-soo has her mother; Soo-kyung has Bong-soon's mother.

We technically don't know the real Bong-gi, the Bong-gi before his mother died. What we have is the Bong-gi his fellow Presidential guard buddies know him as. And what it is, is a mask/cover/disguise, a protective shell in which he hides his real self.

And I must say, Bong-gi has kept up this cover very well, which might mean that his mother has been gone for quite a long time. But no matter how well he keeps up his disguise, bits and pieces of his real self peeks through. Just by the way he playfully coshes the little boy who nearly got himself run over by the Presidential limo [Bong-gi repeats this gesture upon Bong-il, the chicken, in the marketplace]; his concerned look as he views his dad from the Presidential limo's side-view mirror; the disappointed look when his attempt to get to know Joon-won at Bong-soon's home failed; his asking as to what Bong-soon's dreams were; the manner in which he talked to Bong-mi the cow...

Regarding Bong-gi spending money as if there were no tomorrow...all we have to do is look at his dad, who's thrifty and stingy. Even when there are guests in the house. Recall how Director Lee complained about the meager food in episode 1. You'd think the first person to complain would be Bong-gi, but he never did. Yet, his dad still hit him on the head to give the Director a lesson. I'm sure we'll soon understand Bong-gi's obsession with shoes. Oh, and don't forget how at ease and comfortable Bong-gi was in the grandma outfit; his reaction differed from the Dr.'s initial reaction to the same outfit when it was given to him to don on.

As Bong-gi slowly came to be concerned for Bong-soon, and eventually falling for her, the self he has protected for so long starts to surface. He had been too long in disguise that his disguise self refused to believe he would fall for such a girl. But as he realizes his feelings, Bong-gi becomes vulnerable, all that self-confidence he seems to exhibit flies out the window...is he afraid that whatever happened to his mother would happen to Bong-soon if he came to care for her that much?

I completely agree with you on this creidesca. He may be very afraid of losing her. Will we ever find out what happened to his mom? I hope so. It would explain a lot. But I have to say I am liking the vulnerabe Bong-gi a lot. His loving concern for Bong Soon is touching to say the least and it adds a whole new depth to his character.

K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You)

Now that the President has mentioned it...Bong-soon didn't notice the bandage on Bong-gi's arm? It's been there since EP 23, and she still hasn't asked him about it, or how'd he end with it. I guess her mind's full of the Dr. and her imposing family.

To those fluent in French, what did that knucklehead say to Bong-soon in French?

Go Bong-soon! Show them what you can do! The assisstant chef seems a bit surprised at how good her food turned out.

Wait...so the nutritionist is going to try to kiss Bong-gi to see whether she can stand being with him even if he's poor? Bong-gi doesn't seem upset about the nutrionist and photographer being together. Like he said, the nutrionist isn't his girlfriend. But remember who he's said was, even if he was trying to help out the situation?

I can't believe Moonshik would think that of Bong-gi.

What must have been running through Bong-soon's mind when she saw the state of Mr. Nam's home. The first thing she did was check in on her mom. And did you see who Bong-gi went to check out first?

ImageImage

Bong-soon actually smiled a bit when she recalled how she and Bong-gi first met! Keep that question in mind, Bong-soon...why isn't Bong-gi mad at you? He's not mad at you that his shoes are all over the place, he's not mad at you that his house is a mess. Those things aren't important. What's important is that she's fine, he's fine, her mother's fine, his father's fine.
And no way is he going to let her leave. Such an emotional scene in the bedroom when she's trying to pack her bags.

The Dr. is finally thinking of his wife and daughter, other than himself, after remembering Bong-soon's words about how she can't let it go on since someone else could get hurt because of her feelings for him. But going to an amusement park doesn't seem like a great idea at the moment?

Whoa! The thrifty and stingy Mr. Nam is willing to do that? Even Bong-gi is surprised.

Did you see how happy Bong-gi was to get out of the skating date with the nutrionist? Gotta love the chicken comments:
BS: "I don't want to be your chicken to replace the pheasant."
BG: "Hey, But you are a chicken."

BG: "Hey, hillbilly stop getting in other people's way, and get up. Are you hatching an egg or something?"

But I love this scene the best:

Image

[Lee Minki's song "Like Candy II" starts playing. Bong-soon slowly gets up from the ice. Bong-gi's voiceover.]
BG: That's right. Get up, hillbilly.
BG: Scream and cry out when you're fustrated.
BG: When you get down, just lift yourself up. There's nothing to it.
BG: Cheer up, Bong-soon!

Now is it their misfortune that the Dr. and family happen to go to the same amusement park, or is it the Dr.'s misfortune that Bong-gi and Bong-soon are there?

DO NOT MISS TOMORROW'S EPISODE. It's going to be a great one! Especially the beginning and middle to end parts! Basically the entire episode.
