K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You)

I agree with most of the comments about the behavior of the Doctor and Bong Soon.
I am rooting for Bong Gi to win in this relationship although I don't like Bong Soon's character.

I did miss some of the scenes in certain episodes to do other activities. I gather the Doctor is not related to Bong Soon? How did the Dr.'s wife have dementia at such an early age without prior symptoms?

I'm not sure if you all realized this when last night's episode aired, but right before Dr. Chang kissed Bong- soon, he had a runny nose due to crying. As his face neared hers, I was chanting to myself, "no no no no no no no." KISSING with a RUNNY NOSE?! I'm sure that had to be wiped away before he actually kissed her for that scene, but seriously, GROSS.

Anyway, on to my next question about tonight's episode (#22)... What happened at the end? Why did the doctor receive a "new" bodyguard? Was something cut out because I forgot whether that aired after a commercial.

I don't think the 'tears' were real ones. Some actors can not 'cry' on cue and so they use glycerin which is what I think was used by Dr.Chang. No runny nose ...just a detour by the Glycerin. Sometimes they also use menthol fumes to stimulate eyes to tear up.

I think maybe Choi Ji Woo is able to cry anytime she wants, and so she does at the slightest chance. It gets very boring as in 'Winter Sonata'

I think Eugene can produce real tears.

I know that So Ji Sub can become teary and even can produce one tear from one eye. the only other actor I have seen who can do that is Takuya Kimura. He has beautiful eyes and in the last scene in his drama 'The Forest..' he apparently dies and is lying back in the train seat and one large tear rolls from his eye down his cheek. Very impressive.

I actually meant if we pictured that scene as a scene that actually took place in real life. To kiss with a runny nose is quite gross, though, isn't it?

Re: K-drama: 진짜 진짜 좋아해 (Really Really Like You)

I swear, if Bong-soon hadn't abruptly "ended" the kiss, Joon-woon would have kept right on kissing her. But I still can't believe she'd let him get that far!Image

Easier said then done Joon-woon, easier said then done...and coming from you, I likely won't see it coming anytime soon.

Argh, I wish Joon-woon hadn't fainted then...he deserved a smack right there. What was likely running through Bong-gi's head when he witnessed the two together: You no good excuse for a President's son, you just compromised her reputation! What will people think when a woman doesn't come home and is seen together with a man the next morning? She doesn't know any better, but you?!!!? class blockquote Anyway, on to my next question about tonight's episode (#22)... What happened at the end? Why did the doctor receive a "new" bodyguard? Was something cut out because I forgot whether that aired after a commercial. It wasn't explained, but after Joon-woon fainted, the First Lady received a call from Joon-won's personal escort, Bodyguard Kim [seen in EP 3], who admitted the Dr. disappeared on him yesterday. Just shows you how inept this Presidential guard was, which might have prompted the First Lady to decide to replace him.

Image
DL ENG subbed clip: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HH8B8DRA

Then in the 5min cut scene, we see the Presidential guards on the track and field. Bodyguard Yup tells Bong-gi he heard Bong-gi was being transferred and asked him where. Bong-gi replies that he doesn't know. Since EP 9, the First Lady has taken a liking to Bong-gi, likely because of his quick mind and caring attitude, not to mention that she had asked him for advice on several occasions in later episodes. Bong-gi likely won't cater to the President's son either, unlike what Bodyguard Kim must have done if he ended having Joon-woon disappear on him twice (once in EP 1, which led to Joon-won being rescued by Bong-soon, and in this EP).

How dense can Bong-soon be?! There must be a reason why Bong-gi asked you to leave, girl!

1. Even the tiniest details get reported (I don't know how many times Bong-gi has said this, but it never seems to get through either Bong-soon's or Joon-woon's head). The First Lady will know it all first.

2. What will the First Lady think when she sees that you're taking care of him? Only those authorized are allowed access. Does Bong-gi have to straightfowardly tell you that it means that you and him spent the night together? Bong-gi knows nothing happened, but that's not what the First Lady and others will be thinking. Remember Korea's moral laws/codes.

3. Why do you keep hurting yourself, Yeo Bong-soon! You know nothing should be happening between the two of you. Is that the best attempt you can make?

Did it finally hit you, why Bong-gi asked you to leave, when you couldn't even face up to the First Lady outside the door, huh?!!! First Lady is getting quite suspicious now....

I just love this scene:

Image

BG: Where were you yesterday?
BG: Are you out of your mind?
BG: Don't you know that even the tiniest details get reported?
BG: It's only a matter of time before the First Lady finds out.
BG: I know you can't help falling for someone. But you're the Youngshik.
BG: I don't know about everyone else, but you know you're not supposed to do this!
BG: BG: That hillbilly Bong-soon will be the only one who gets hurt.
BG: BG: Where are you going with this?
JW: I don't know. I don't know where I'm going, or where I can go with this.
JW: I tried to avoid it. I tried not to let it come to this.
JW: But...but...
JW: I won't take too long. I'm not going to avoid this anymore.
JW: I'll make a decision.
BG: I'm a guard.
BG: If a bullet comes our way, I'll thrust myself to protect you.
BG: But if Bong-soon were here right now...
BG: I know I shouldn't, but I'll probably find myself protecting that hillbilly, not you
BG: I don't care if it's you.
BG: I won't let that hillbilly get hurt like this.
BG: Never.

Recall how Joon-woon ignored Bong-soon in EP 21? In EP 22, Bong-gi makes such an attempt himself, at the bus stop when he and Bong-soon made eye-contact, but as we soon saw, he couldn't help worrying about her:
I love the song!

ImageImage

[Drunken man sits down next to Bong-soon]
M: Are you uncomfortable? The floor's...
BG: Sir?
I'm sorry, but can we switch seats?
M: Why?
BG: She's my girlfriend.
M: She's your girlfriend? I guess I have to move then.

[BG and the man switch places. BG still ignores BS. BS smiles. She leans her head against the window. BG looking over, moves her head so that it is leaning on his shoulder.]
BG: Get some sleep. Didn't you get any sleep last night?
Are you coming down with the bird flu? You look like a sick chicken.
BS: You didn't sleep either?
BG: No, I didn't.
BS: Why?
BG: I couldn't sleep because I was busy counting stars.
BS: Liar... There are no stars to count in Seoul
BG: Where have you been all this time? I saw plenty of them.

Uh, why was Bong-soon going to call Dr. Chang? He's still in the hospital isn't he? I'm sure he's not allowed to use his cell phone.

I think that the photographer must own that Italian restaurant...when the nutritionist was rummaging through his wallet in EP 21, she came across a business card listing him as the President of an Italian restaurant. Then in EP 22, he's printing out coupons for free meals?
Figures why he's able to give all those free coupons to the nutritionist, which she used to take Bong-gi out on.

Is Bong-soon angry at her mom because she abandoned her or because she's embarrassed at how her mom turned out?

Did Joon-won make the decision to divorce his wife? His words at their 5th anniversary seems like a final farewell of sorts.

And so many Bong-Bong moments in this EP!

Image

BG: Sit down.
BS: I'm leaving.
BG: We've ordered.
BS: Eat it yourself.
BG: Sit down.
BS: I can't stay here.
BG: Why? Why not?
BG: You came here to have dinner with me.
BG: Sit down.
BS: Sorry, I really can't stay.
BG: Can't you see me?
BG: How come you can see him, but can't see me?
BG: Look at me, you peabrain!
BG: Stop looking at the wrong places, and look at me, you blockhead!
BG: Don't move!
BG: Finish your food, and leave with me.

Another confession of sorts? class blockquote I gather the Doctor is not related to Bong Soon? How did the Dr.'s wife have dementia at such an early age without prior symptoms? That is correct, the two have no blood relations. As for Ji-soo, I'll wait till after EP 24 to answer that, to make sure that the scene I'm thinking of has either aired, or been cut.
One thing to remember about dementia, however, is that though Alzheimer's is just a leading cause of dementia. Not all dementia result from Alzheimer's.

but when will BS realize that BG doesn't really hate her and loves her deeply instead?
do you guys remember the scene in the restaurant before BS and BG showed up dr chang was saying something about she doesn't need to remember his and their daughters name he'll remember it for her... it sounded like he really is going to take the mother-in-laws offer of divorce... plus the fact that he didn't even want to take a picture with her wife... even after the waiters said how they do take one every year and also notice how the mother inlaw also sort of starting to chnage her mind about whats best for her daughter when dr chang was sick and he sang to his wife in a gesture that they understand each other
BTW, is someone still keeping track how many names BG had called BS add peabrain and blockhead there

hi everyone,

wow...it sounds like a lot is happening in this drama. I shall catch up w/you all in a week or so.

BS is still clinging on to the Dr?? I really wonder when will she realizes that she's not suppose to. It's a semi long drama right? Are we half way?

That is cool that the final episode just aired in Korea.

It does sound like Dr. Chang has made the decision to get a divorce. But I wonder who he really is doing it for? I have a feeling it is purely selfish, but maybe somewhere in there he does realize it may be best for everyone, except BS of course.

Those BG scenes were all great! He is truly a great character! The scene in the restaurant where he practically confessed his feelings to BS and she still didn't get it! She just sat back down and sulked. I think in some small ways she is beginning to notice his changes and how much he does truly care for her, but I swear sometimes she is too naive.

Creidesca, thanks so much for the cut scene. It was great! Esp the part with the Ajumma. I really hope something happens with those two, as unlikely as it seems.

Can't wait for the episodes next week. This drama is definietly one of the most original, really interesting dramas I have seen. I might have to go back and watch again from the beginning once it's over.

Thanks for the recap and cut scene, creidesca!

Even though I can't stand the way Dr. Chang has been acting, I do feel for him and his wife. The Dr. really seems to be losing it these last few episodes... I'm still hoping that maybe she'll make some kind of miraculous recovery.

Good grief, Bong Gi... just spit it out... 'I love you, Bong Soon!"
And somebody ought to slap some sense into that girl.

Bong Soon's girlfriend who sold vegetables, where did they meet?

What's the name of the actress who plays the Nutritionist/Goldigger?
