Episode 19 was a good one .
I simply love Bong Ki 's talk - I hate you , Bong Soon . He could not take it no more simply the talbe turned on him . He thought that with the blind date of Robocop and BS , he would get BS off his mind but he took it so hard as he realized that he jumped from the frying pan to the fire - he was so cute and funny with his bottle of beer in his hand and watching over Bong Soon like a hawk .
He is such a good actor as in these scenes , you got to pity him somehow and love him more ... He does not have the look like Robocop and yet , you will not be able to hate him at all .
The way he talked to BS after the blind date was so heartbreaking but then he sent all the wrong signals to BS !!! How could one understand his feelings if he kept yelling and calling her names ??? Country Chicken , hilliby , lady bug ???
From day one , Bong Soon had never received any kindness nor sweet words from Bong Gi . He nearly threw her out of his house and he did not care much for her either . The persons that cared for her then was Dr. Chang and Bong Ki 's dad . At least they showed some compassions for her so it is natural for Bong Soon to be blind towards Bong Ki as nothing she did would ever pleased Bong Ki ... How could Bong Soon get to know the real him when he just expressed his feelings in an opposite way ? Bong Soon even admitted that he was trying to set her up with Robocop so she could forget about Dr. Chang . She promised him she would try her best ... and she was so suprised when he rest his head on her shoulder . She did not know what to say or do to comfort him because she did not understand how he felt about her . She only knew that she displeased him so much that he hated everything about her ....
It was wrong of Bong Soon to continue her relationship with Dr. Chang . But it is hard when you are head over heel in love with someone and in time she will need a strong dose of heartache in order to get her out of that web . But right now , Bong Soon was comfortable with Dr. Chang but not with Bong Ki . Her head told her to stop but her heart could not ....
Until Bong Ki establish a good ground for Bong Soon's trust by not calling her names ( as if that he was looking down on her , but he was not ) and treated her in a different way , then he would have a chance to get her back to reality ....

GAHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED IT!!! oh I am so sad right now. I missed the biggest part of the drama so far...oh I am so depressed -__- hahaha. well they KINDA showed a part of it in today's episode...when the Dr. got mad at seeing Bong Gi and Bong Soon together I thought..he has no right to be pissed off in any way! It wasn't fair that he thought of them while right next to his wife..and he even thought about locking her in!!! He is seriously pissing me off so much at this point.
p.s. this is going to be my last episode for three weeks! >.< I'm going out of country..so please fill me in on what happens! I'm in the process of downloading raws right now and I can tell I'm going to miss a WHOLE LOT.

As for EP 20, KTAN cut a 10min continuous segment (but skimming through the raw, it's not quite too important I think, but I'll see what I can do about subbing). I think another 3min segment was also cut, and this was a scene b/w Bong-soon and the First Lady (?).

Good show, so far.

Have you given some thought that his insults and name-calling is what he's used to? Recall how his father showed his affection for the Chef Ahjumma. Also don't forget that Bong-Gi's father has said so himself (in EP 2) that 1/2 of Bong-Gi's temper comes from him. The other half, likely comes from Bong-Gi's mom who passed away. Bong-Gi is the product of two such persons, and seeing his parents like that day by day must have rubbed off. Of course, Bong-Gi seems much more extreme than his father (but at least he hasn't been called Mr. Pervert like father dear yet ), and that's likely because of the little confidence he has and self-defense mechanism in which he employs to mask his weaknesses. What could Bong-Gi have done that he isn't able to face his mother (recall events in EP 4).
Several times, Bong Gi has said that it's important to voice/let it all out. He told that to Hyo Won...and he also employed such a technique on Bong-soon (the boxing ring scene). I think that's what wrong with Joon Won. He keeps everything inside. Because he isn't able to accept himself as being the President's son and taking on the responsibilities of one under such a position, he attempts to accomplish at having presenting a stable family with his wife and daughter. But with his wife falling to dementia, he's kept up a charade he can no longer handle. Even his dad, the President, when he has something on his mind, he would consult either with San, the Presidential Residence Chef, or Director Lee...
Be back in about 1-2hrs with the english subbed clip of the 10min+ scene cut from EP 20 here in SoCal.

Thank you creidesca. I have to agree with you. Bong Gi doesn't really know any different than name calling, no affection etc...
And from what I have noticed we aren't really shown that much more of Bong Gi than Bong Soon is. Yes, we see a few scenes with him and Hyo Won and some with the Dr., but other than that the Bong Gi that Bong Soon sees is what we see and yet it has been fairly obvious to us how he feels about Bong Soon.
(btw wasn't that scene in the hospital with Hyo Won and the sunglasses great...i loved that line about keeping the sunglasses on so no one can see through his heart, that is Bong Gi in a nutshell. He's slowly taking off his glasses for Bong Soon, ie. helping her out with her mom, the president, being there for her when she's upset about the Dr, warning her about the Dr., all the small things he has done for her, but she hasn't quite noticed yet)
As for the scenes with the Dr. and his wife last night, I was impressed, finally we get to see his frustration and utter desperation...for, if I didn't know any better, his wife. It seems like he might be finally getting some sense. There he was talking to Bong Gi about his feelings for Bong Soon when he gets a call about his wife being missing, did you see his face totally change when he saw her? You could almost hear him thinking about how selfish he was.
And although it wasn't totally right, I was happy he kicked BS out of his house. He should have done that long ago...

I also liked the scene where Bong-Gi matter-of-factly pointed out that the Dr. is seeing Bong-soon no longer in a brotherly way, right after he witnesses the Dr. leaving/speeding by them in his car:
Bong-gi: Something weird is going on?
Bong-gi: Yeah, it's weird. But guess what?
Bong-gi: The guy who thinks something weird is going on between us is just as weird.
Bong-gi: Why did he just leave like that? Why did he turn his cell phone off?
For Bong-soon to worry over what the Dr. might think when he saw her and Bong-gi together shows that she's still hasn't pushed aside those feelings she said she would--she still doesn't want to be the Dr.'s sister.
And the scene on the hospital grounds between Bong-gi and the Dr...it's very reminiscent of the scene in an earlier episode when Bong-gi went to return the cell phone the Dr. had gifted Bong-soon with. In that scene, the Dr. and Bong-gi used each other's words, just like in this scene. However, there's some differences. In the earlier scene, Bong-gi and the Dr. deny of what their feelings towards Bong-soon could be, with the Dr. getting the last word in. Yet, in this episode, it's Bong-gi who got the last word in, and he was the first to admit of his feelings towards Bong-soon while the Dr. was still in denial.
from the scene in EP 20:
BG: I heard you waited for a long time yesterday.
JW: And?
BG: Why did you just leave? Why was your cell phone off the whole night?
BG: That hillbilly thinks you left because you thought she and I had something weird going on. Is that why you left and turnd your cell phone off?
JW: I can't say no to that. I'm trying to figure out why I did that, too.
JW: Was that a misunderstanding?
BG: I can't say no to that, either. That hillbilly looks more and more like a woman.
[JW left speechless]

In the scene you mentioned, I noticed how much Bong-gi was paying attention to BS--he knows she's having problems sleeping (and I'm sure he, too). And he tried to make light of the whole matter, to ease BS's guilt over cooking nearly everything.
Oh yes, how could I forget, the scene after this, where he catches up to Jin-kyung and the photographer was hilarious. He blatantly showed off his shortcomings with his own mouth. The only thing going for him was his looks and height, but nonetheless cute to hear him to be happy just to eat a whole yellow corvina. class blockquote bubu13 wrote:
