TK409 Protocol Project
update 7/05/08
New wearable Don Post style shorts are available. I'll post more info in a few days, but these are modeled on the screen-style shorts, with 2 extra inches in the waist so these have been modified to fit up to a 33" waist. The screws at the waist hold it closed. Cost is $350 shipped, paypal to tk409@tk409.com
Currently, these do not quite fit down into the leg armor without some trimming with the dremel. We made them longer so you could trim them to fit. I haven't done a mod yet to tell you how to trim them. As soon as I do, I'll post that info here. Keep this in mind when ordering.

New Don Post-sized arms are available!
This is a project we've worked on for months and I finally have something to share.
These new arms are the same size as the Don Post statue arms, AND they're wearable and functional. You've got to be pretty thin - these fit my "hulking" arms pretty snug. The hands are strictly for display, but they are the screen-style hands as well. The only thing that isn't shown is the elbow knobs, those little caps that fit over the screws - those are included as well. I'll try them on with my existing costume for a photo before sending them to be chromed. Let me know what you think!
Wrist: approx 9"
Bicep at bottom: approx 10.5"
Bicep at armpit: approx 11.5"
actual shoulder opening: approx 11"
Forearm at top: approx 10.5"

----------------------------------
New torsos are available with an additional 2" in girth and the modification is visually unnoticeable because I used the same method as described by Don Bies on the Episode3 C-3po suit. I'm very happy how these turned out!

Orders filled in the order paid. Shipments go out every other Friday, please allow an estimated 10-20 weeks for your order to arrive. This is only an estimate - some have received theirs sooner. I don't offer a chroming service, however I recommend contacting Chuck or Kevin at VMI Inc., the very same shop that chromed the original C-3PO suits for Lucasfilm. They metalized my suit and it turned out great. Their price is around $1250. You can also try http://www.vacuummetallizing.ca I believe their prices are lower.
WEARABLE FIBERGLASS C-3PO PROJECT

------------------------------------
A friend and I have restored a Disney suit to resemble the Anthony Daniels-worn screen suit as closely as possible.
For years I had been searching for a good suit, but none had the detail, accuracy or wearability I wanted. I found a private collector who had a Disney suit in storage and didn't know what to do with it. It had been made several years ago by a studio who fabricated it specifically for him from an old Disney park suit. This was NOT based on a GA suit nor any other suit that is currently being made available. We have modified the suit to be wearable and to fit and function just like the movie costume. We are offering parts at very close to our cost so they can be as affordable as possible.
TORSO/SHOULDERS
Some details on the torso were left off or needed reconstruction, so we've added those. The arms extended out straight to the shoulders, with no ribbed ring in between. That has been modified and the ring built. The shoulders have been reinforced to fit more flush with the ring.
BICEPS & FOREARMS
The ridge details on both the bicep and forearm were too far apart as compared to the AD suit and the ridges were missing from the bicep rear slot so those have been added and modified. The piston mounting disc on the bicep has been raised to a more accurately prominent height. The piston connectors have been added as well to both the forearm elbows and biceps. The biceps also did not fit flush within the forearms, but that has been fixed as well.
HANDS
Each finger tip and finger armor piece has been seperately sculpted and the handplates have been sculpted to the ESB/ROTJ appearance with the wrap-around palm plates. Buyers will need to add the small palm squares and wires (squares can be cut from styrene and glued to glove along with wires)
FIBERGLASS SHORTS/PELVIS
Like all our parts, these are done in smooth, clean, lightweight fiberglass. The right leg hole was larger than the left, so the left hole was enlarged to match. They include an added ribbed belly section already attached for those who are doing a display. All you do is paint that area black and add your wires. The units do come with the small, false hip screws (although they're not shown in photos, they match the side screws from the torso). The seams will be cleaned and smooth. Remember, our model is small: 5'4" 130lbs. The photos below show our torso with this pelvis.
THIGHS
Ours have the "teeth" that extend down to meet the shins and have been resculpted from scratch. The large top thigh screws have been added and the "v" seams at the back redone. An interior fin has also been added to the thigh that will hang down and keep the thigh & shin rotating in sync while fitting together with machined-like precision.
SHINS
The knee area and discs have been completely redone for sharpness and have the accurate low-profile appearance, flush with the thighs. They also have the proper zig-zag cut up the sides at the wedge splitting the front and back halves.
HEAD
For wearable heads, Check with MonCal for a very nice vacuformed vacuformed head. Other suppliers have become available too so PM me if you have trouble locating a head.

Chris have you had a chance to take a pic of yourself with the new arms on with the rest of your suit?
