Re: INFO: Introductions forum

Hi Paul,
Just need to amend that intro slightly, the tyres are Cooper 225-70-15 H/T's not 75's sorry about that, only done the weekend on them approx 400k's and the lh rear has a large sidewall bulge in it. Did not do any off roading and never hit anything with it so will be interesting to see how good there warranty is I'm back to the tyre fitters tomorrow to find out.

Regards
Greg

Re: INFO: Introductions forum

G'day to everyone,
I have just registered as a new member and need to introduce myself. Firstly, I have been using this website for a while now gathering very helpfull assistance and ideas. I hail from Newcastle (Stockton Beach just down the road) and own a 2006 XT-S (Auto). I opted for Black as it was the only one available last year whilst on sale and I had to have it straight away. Hindsight - More time cleaning on weekends - No real performance mods just yet, simply tow bar fitted and factory nudge bar. Both items purchased from Sydney at give away prices on E-bay, $70 and $80 respectively. Fitted on Sat afternoon over a few stubbies. I have ambitions of having fitted the full performance exhaust system sometime this year especially after reading performance increase on this site. Upgrading intake system and possibly some City shoes (17" or 18") but keeping standards for off-road. Anyway, hope to catch up in the future online !

Hint for the day : Never go to Stckton Beach alone and always know your tyre pressures - Hmmm...........enough said

Hahaha! Welcome to the forum britto. I take it that you are speaking from experience and possibly required a bit of assistance from passerbys on a day out at the beach?

Re: INFO: Introductions forum

Thanks Gents for the welcome. Very close as well Naff, no passers by during the week at Lovers Lane - but my son and nephew certainly worked up a sweat. First name is Mark (Jalalski) but 'Britto' is good. I will soon update details of ride and post pictures soon. Hope also to catch up on a group activity this year and learn some valuable Exy tips !!

Hint for the day: When a Exy gets airborne on the way home from the beach on a gravel road - just remember you have recently let the tyre pressures down for beach driving. Bottoms up ! or maybe BOTTOMED the front end OUT !! Ha Ha.....more crazy stunts to follow emoticon

Re: INFO: Introductions forum

Hello everybody,
Short time surfer - first time posting.
When my wife broke her foot last year (and signalled the demise of manual transmission cars for us), I started researching more thoroughly for a replacement for our Honda Civic sedan (our 2nd). I have always been a fan of Hondas and prior to the current CR-V, had always thought that we would purchase a CR-V as an introduction into the sub 4WD world. However, I must say that I'm not too impressed with the current shape and offroad capabilities (my b-i-l recently purchased a CR-V which I have driven a bit).
So I jumped on the the 'net and searched. I had only just heard about the Nissan X-Trail winning the DCOTY award and thought I'd look into the reasons. So far I have been X-tremely impressed with Nissan's latest and it is for many reasons that we will be purchasing the Ti in the coming months. But the clincher really has been this site / forum. Nowhere else have I been able to find so much relevant information about "actual" drive experiences as I have form you guys. Thanks heaps.
Most of the Ti's time will be spent on the bitumen, but we want to be able to explore the country on the weekends and maybe do a little beach fishing.
Looking forward to reading more and learning along the way.
Cheers,
Stephen

You will find there are a great bunch of people in Brisbane so the occasional group day out on weekends to get your comming Xtrail "out bush" should be good times.

Re: INFO: Introductions forum

Just bought a T31 ST Twilight Colour with CVT NO accessories as I want to check out what is the best and what I need. I will be towing a rally car all over Victoria and southern NSW. I traded a AWD Mitsubishi Verarda which had doen over 200,000 Km without a problem, I am hoping that I have a similar experience with the Nissan. I also used to own a Terrano II Turbo Diesel and before that a GQ Patrol so I am not a stranger to Nissan's.

So first thing on the shopping list is a towbar, I'm think of Hayman Reese... if anyone has an opinion that would be great. As I have HID's on the rally car I will be looking at importing a set of lights from Japan ASAP, but I'll need direction on what else is required.

Anyway I'm going to have a look at what activities are happening by for now.

regards

John Ernst
