That is correct Rich, they sell Hella's and another brand which I can't remember now, but they do put a nissan sticker on it (just like the roof racks, which I believe are made by Thule)

Nissan dealer driving lights with relay, loom etc $290.00 plus install.
Yesterday Supacheap had Hellas on special with relay and wire kit $169.00.
It's want to be a pretty good sticker from Nissan.

Boults4545,yes i have fitted a set of narva fog lights to my series one exy.i would not do it again,as i cut out the centre of the fog light blanks and filed the holes to suit the lights i have. The focus took me for ever and in the end i used silicone to stick them in from the rear.(fog light unit to fog light blank).Check on ebay and buy the factory ones.Would never do it again in a fit,and will never say it is easy although it looks as good as the factory fitted one,on the current series11.I will not tell anybody what lights i used,as just do not do it,not worth the trouble.

Hi guys

I just found a pair of fog lights on eBay in the US which *apparently* suit the X-Terra and X-Trail. I've emailed them to ask just how well they suit and how much modification is needed.

They sell lights to suit a huge range of cars and I'm worried that they are all just generic lights and they list them by model to make them seem to fit perfectly. Am I getting cynical in my old age? emoticon

There is a pic on the eBay ad with them fitted to an X-Trail, and it looks factory, but I'm wondering if this took many many hours and lots of swearing to achieve emoticon

The company is called Bling Lights and they're about $US75 incl postage.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Cheers
Brenton

Hi Brenton,

These fog lights by blinglights are on eBay full time emoticon

These are the exact ones I was telling you guys about which Andre (Russki) (a member of this forum) bought from eBay and ended-up having problems fitting them, as they're too small for the whole in the bumper.

If you ask the seller to send you a close-up of that small xtrail pic, you'll see how big the gap is between the fog light and the edge of the whole in the bumper.

I wish Andre could join this thread to tell you guys about it, but he ended buying some plastic PVC tube to fill that gap and it was quite an effort on his part to be able to finally get an acceptable result.

You may want to PM Andre with your questions.

I reckon it's not worth it, if you can find genuine ones for the same price on eBay.

Re: Head lights and Fog Lights Modifications & Upgrades

Hello Boyz and Girlz (if any)

Yes, indeed I have purchased and installed above mentioned lights.
1) Purchase was quite painful, as seller didn't accept CC or Pay Pal
from AU.
2) After receiving lights - I was VERY disappointed as lights didn't fit
- (they are generic lights and are NOT designed for xtrail) sitting too deep with HUGe gab around.
3) Seller suggested to send them back for refund .... yeah, right after you
pay for postage to AU and back, you end up with half the money, so I
decided to install them anyhow..
4) I have spend ~ $20 to get extra long nuts, bolts and washers from Bunnings +
some 1.5m of 12mm clear pipe + ~4 hours installation.

Extra long bolts did let me to position lights on the right depth and
I used clear pipe to wrap around the light to center them and
fill in gabs.

The end result is quite good though (in my opinion), although I would
prefer clear lenses instead of blue ones.

Hopefully Jalal will upload some pictures for me, so you will be able
to see progress of work and the end result.

Conclusion: With that amount of work, extra parts and inventions emoticon I
can now fit any round lights from Kmart (I found quite sexy ones
there) into the Xtrail for ~$60 without any wait or international
money transfers - so do not bother emoticon just get go to KMART instead or
look at Wreckers.

Here are the pics as requested emoticon
