Re: Interior Light

Kev,

Once you have taken off all 4 screws holding the driver box in place and lift up the box you should see a connector for the power supply socket which you need to disconnect.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

Jalal,
Found this Interior Lamp LED Array replacement on ebay

I like the look of this, especially with the different adapters for cabin lamp and map lamp but the shipping cost puts me off.
Do you think you have some contacts over there which can do a better shipping cost ?

Kev,

There are others available on eBay cheaper than the one you found. Search for "LED Dome Interior" in Worldwide.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

Thanks Jalal but none of them come with the bulb fitting for the front map lamp.
I've since found this from a Sydney seller so I'll have a look.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

OK Kev,

My LED interior lights arrived today. I got myself the 24 LED ones for the centre and rear roof lights and the 16 LED ones for the map lights (2 of them)

The centre and rear ones work perfectly well and they're indeed VERY bright. Pretty happy with them.

For the map lights, I just couldn't get them to work with the supplied globe attachments, there seems to be a polarity problem with the way they're configured.

The pin of the globe attachment base is the positive and the head is negative (I tested it with a 9 volt battery and it worked fine) but as soon as I insert it in the map light position, it doesn't light-up.

Am not sure how I can reverse the polarity of this attachment as the wiring pin is directional and the wires inside the globe attachment are sealed emoticon

Will have to figure out a way to do this as they would look awesome indeed.

You can buy from this Sydney seller with confidence, their delivery is super fast.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

I have already ordered the 20LED module to test fit in all three spots (map, cabin & boot) as I know it will fit in the cabin lamp.

I had to reverse the polarity of my map lamp when I did the door open mod so the module should work in mine.
I can reverse the wiring in your map lamp housing for you. Really easy. Just let me have your unit o/night when I come see you next week for my bashplate screws emoticon

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

Kev,

The 24 LED module is perfect fit for the cabin and boot lamps and the 16 LED is the max I would go for the map lamp.

I have done some testing last night and I think I will reverse the polarity of the globe attachment instead, just cut the wires and reverse them. I think it should work.

Re: Interior & Key Ignition Light

Bugger.
Did not see the 24LED module earlier.
I'll see how bright the 20LED module is and use it in either the boot or cabin area depending, or maybe organise to swap it for a 24LED module.
Would you say the 24LED module was TOO bright for the cabin area ?
