Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
Absolutely Justin, I am searching the Dirty Weekend book already for the next trip!
I have to say, the pictures and videos do not give justice to all the we did.
Kev, I tried getting the kids wet but unfortunately I could not get a run up as there was a big drop off just before the waters edge.
But.... if I had a camera facing Vicky and I, the pics would have come out something like this
uh oh! holy c#%* Yeah, let's do that again.......
In terms of the Xtrail capability, I think we are always continually impressed, but on the day none more so than Bob.
At the start of the day he said that in all the (soft roader cars) he has seen the Exy's are by far the best. In fact, on the last hill of the day, he took the 100 series Lancruiser up in Low range 4wd and after we so admirably climbed up and over every obstacle, he had to do the run again in High range as he said he was embarrassed that he did it in Low range.
How's that for a recommendation!

Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie for the time and effort he put in to organising the Tag-a-long, Bob and Marion for being great hosts for the weekend, Jalal and the forum for their kind donation and last but not least the the group of people who attended that we would now like to call friends.
I would highly recommend everyone doing something similar to this so they realise the full potential and capabilities of their X-Trails and the chance to meet new people, to become friends and exchange tips and ideas to make your X-TRAIL experience XTREMELY enjoyable.
Once again thanks to all involved,
Rob & Deb

Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
Thanks Rob, it was a pleasure meeting you and Debbie.
Having fun was the underlying reason for buying the Exy and I think I have acheived my target tenfold. Meeting great people such as yourselves and all the people I have met through the forum and trips is a bonus and I have not met anyone who does not like bonuses Thanks for taking the time to drive all the way down here to be part of this trip.
If you guys can find something like this in your area or even just some fun tracks that we can spend a day checking out, I would be more than happy to make the trek up for a weekend of fun and I don't think I would be the only one! Let us know if you ever plan something.

Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
Well ... firstly, as everyone else has said, a HUGE thanks to Jamie for motivating us into this trip! To Bob and Marion for their cool, calm easy manner, and never ending knowledge of the local area and its history. This would have to be the best field trip ever! From a passenger point of view it was cruzy, and I thoroughly enjoyed whiling away the days admiring the scenery (sometimes on Deziz behalf - judging by the white knuckles on a couple of the downhill sections); the numerous cuppa stops especially old farmer Bob's rocky river crossings. Justin and his entourage of gigglers; meeting new friends Rob and Deb who came all the way from Gladstone (what an effort). Most of all I think the boys were mighty proud of their pride and joys performances (and all the show and tell sessions about their bits (the Exy's that is).
Can't wait for another trip

Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
Hi Guys,
It seems the operators of Brisbane Hinterland 4WD Tours were REALLY impressed with the performance of the xtrails to deserve a spot in their NEWSLETTER
I have received this copy of the newsletter from Jamie and thought I'd share it with you.
Well done guys

Re: Queensland Tag-A-Long Tour 9-10 Feb 2007
Jamie, Rob & Debbie, Dez & Bev, Tony, Justin,
We all know how capable our little soft-roader is but having such praise from a 4WD operator certainly helps to get the message out to many others who might be thinking of joining our ranks.
Only wish I could have been there to join in on all the fun.
Well done all.

Hey Jalal
I tried to access the newsletter via the link, but it could not be found (I know this is an old post)
Do you still have a copy and could you re-post it or (possibly) email it to me? Rose & I are keen to do a hinterland tag-a-long to learn a bit more about our exy and its capabilities.
