posticon Calendar of Upcoming Events

We now have created an interactive CALENDAR which you can use to enter any State specific events, shows and gatherings.

You're encouraged to use this feature for future meets-ups.

Here are pretty simple steps you need to follow to add an event to the calendar:

Re: Calendar of Upcoming Events

Hi Guys,

I have now added the Events Calendar button/link on the main page of the forum so it is a bit more visible to all.

Hopefully this will encourage you to use this forum feature a bit more actively emoticon

If I can suggest guys & gals, since there is no DELETE option after an event is posted in the calendar, it would be best to wait until an event has been confirmed in the Events & Meetups forum with a few members before posting in the calendar.

Re: Calendar of Upcoming Events

Kev,

I have just created a new calendar using a new program.

I intentionally removed the "delete" setting and limited it to the Admin Team only, as anyone can delete a scheduled event from our calendar if I enable this setting.

If any of you enters an event by mistake or would like to move it, please let the admin team know and we'll do that for you.

Thanks for the notice Jalal.

Just had a look and wondering ... any chance you could put a link on instructions for use ?
Could it be made so the original poster can edit an event ?

Re: Calendar of Upcoming Events

Kev,

Instructions have been added to the original post above but I will also include these instructions on the calendar page later tonight.

The Edit & Delete functions are controlled at the same time, so if I enable the edit it will also enable the delete.

I can however set a password for both functions to work, but am not sure how can we keep this username and password only visible to members of the forum and not any outsiders, therefore it'll be much easier for us (the admin team) to control this on request basis.

Thanks Jalal.
With the added instructions it should be easy for everyone organising events in any state to use the calendar now.

Re: Calendar of Upcoming Events

Hi Guys,

Those of you organizing trips and outing are encouraged to update the Events Calendar with details of the outing and a link to the thread where the event is being organized. We have visitors viewing our forum and they might be interested in joining your events as "non registered members" to get the feel and meet some of you, which would of course result in them becoming members of our forum later on.
