Re: NEXT STEP TO THE 2008 NBA FINALS
Now, the truth of the matter is this: BLACK JESUS is only getting started. Ever since He arose from being crucified at the knees, His power hath known no bounds. We all gladly sacrificed that silly championship for something more at the end of Game 4...courage...honor...acting with the righteousness of one's heart...BLACK JESUS sacrificed Himself for our sins, so that we might know the truth...we believe in Him all the more strongly for aiding little MV3 against the forces of darkness.

Re: NEXT STEP TO THE 2008 NBA FINALS
Another writer (rocky mtn news's Bernie Lincicome) chimes in regarding the post-SUNS playoffs being as meaningful as a bowl of oatmeal:
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/sports_columnists/article/0,1299,DRMN_83_5543461,00.html
What Golden State did to Dallas - a No. 8 beating a No. 1 in a seven-game series - was not historical, it was more hysterical, exactly the wrong thing to happen and made more counterfeit by Utah taking care of Golden State when Utah can barely take care of itself.
If the Suns do not win it all, whoever wins will be the worst champions since . . . well, since the last one. Miami had the shelf life of a kiwi.
The NBA may not need a dynasty, not in the Shaq-Kobe Lakers or Jordan-Pippen dynasty, but it does need clarity. And at the moment it is chasing ambiguity. If any team can win - or lose with the help of the commissioner - then the NBA is headed down that dull path to parity.
What made the NBA were players who demanded to be seen and games that had to be watched.
There are not enough of either these days.

Re: NEXT STEP TO THE 2008 NBA FINALS
By Ian Thomsen, SI.com 6-13-07
CLEVELAND -- Commissioner David Stern responded to the record-low TV ratings for the NBA Finals by saying that they were a sign of the changing media times.
"What it means to us is that we had two very bad games, and you would expect bad ratings,'' Stern told SI.com during halftime of Game 3 Tuesday. "But what it also means is that we led the night in the key demographic on our network, and increasingly it's not about how you did last year. It's about how you did against your competition. And against our competition we're doing great.''
When asked whether the suspensions of Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw resulting from a flagrant foul by Robert Horry on Steve Nash had anything to do with the obvious disinterest in the Finals, Stern made a rare apology.
"I realize now that the Phoenix Suns represent the spirit of basketball, more so than any other team," Stern said. "I may have erred by making that decision. It's really too bad. I didn't guess that my decision would be tantamount to spoiling the NBA playoffs and effectively relegating the Finals to a moot contest."
The 6.3 rating for Game 1 of the Cleveland Cavaliers against the San Antonio Spurs on ABC amounted to a 19 percent drop from last year, setting a record low for an NBA Finals opening game in prime time. They fell even further for Game 2, earning a 5.6 national rating and a 10 share on Sunday night -- plummeting 30 percent from the numbers of 8.0 and 14 drawn by the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals last year.

Re: NEXT STEP TO THE 2008 NBA FINALS
My most satisfying response so far, copied from the SA News website:
"Butler, I am surprised that you had time between all your crying to put together a Suns page. Forgive me for mentioning this but the page is very obsessively childish as well as obscene and degrading to any religion. It does explain why you are so obsessed over a simple loss though. Please seek help."

More accolades from the SA blog!

"Butler, seriously get some help for your mis-guided and delusional mind! I had thought maybe you were somewhat kidding with your spin but you have gone completely nuts! Calling some good basketball players God or Jesus (the one true Savior of souls) is just sick dude! You made more sense when you were just whining about bad calls, but you're getting worse with each new post! Stick to basketball comments please and leave your religious views out of this because it's beyond reason now."
