Butler why do you say they were undersized? They played both their centers, Schumaker & Smith for 42 minutes & by WNBA standars they are not small. While conversely Detroit is the team that went to small ball, their 6'-8" center, Feenstra was only on the floor 15 minutes, 6'-6" Braxton for 12 minutes and liked you said their other post player Cheryl Ford was hurt and only plaed 11 minutes.
They played just liked the Suns? Apparently you didn't watch Westhead's Denver Nuggets, Lakers or Loyola Marymount teams long before D'Antoni came to town.

Mikey, mikey - glad to hear from you on this day of worship! I knew you were watching them.
Ford, Peerson, Brazton and Feenstra are way bigger than their counterparts, in weight and height (how I describe "size"). Tangela is nowhere near as big as Ford or Braxton or Feenstra, and Schumaker is tall but not very big. It was a major size disadvantage for the MERCURY, which they overcame with excellent team D and superior passing and shooting - precisely the advantage the SUNS have over their foes most nights.
Westhead gets all the credit in my book. MY point though, was that the MERCURY play entertaining ball ala the SUNS, which lots of SUNS fans wouldn't guess.
